Video: Disney Magic Horn Battle and Sail Away from San Juan, Puerto Rico

On the evening of October 18, 2014, the Disney Magic set sail on a 3-Night repositioning cruise to Port Canaveral. This marked the final time the Disney Magic embarked from San Juan during her brief time home porting in Puerto Rico sailing 7-Night Southern Caribbean Cruises.

Once the lines dropped, the Disney Magic maneuvered out of her berth passing Royal Caribbean’s Jewel of the Seas resulting in a short horn battle. After turning around, the Disney Magic sailed past Castillo San Felipe del Morro out into open waters towards Castaway Cay.

The video was recoded with a GoPro mounted to the railing of our navigators verandah. The majority of the video has been sped up to avoid a boring 30 minute video… Don’t worry, I have one of those coming up very soon! Enjoy.

The Disney Disney Wonder will be the next Disney Cruise Line ship to home port in San Juan during her 2016 7-Night Southern Caribbean cruises.

Hey Scott, do you mind telling me what attachment you used for the Go Pro? I bought one for my husband to use when we sail on the WBPC in May to record the crossing. Thank you and Happy New Year!

This video makes me giddy. This is one of my favorite parts of cruising with Disney. The unique horn/whistle always makes me so proud to be onboard a DCL boat whenever we’re in port. 🙂
