Cruise International, the leading UK cruise magazine announced the winners for their fourth annual Cruise International Awards today. This year, there were 20 categories and over 25,000 votes cast by readers according to the magazine’s editor, Liz Jarvis. The awards were presented during a ceremony at The Kensington Roof Gardens in London, England.
Disney Cruise Line was nominated for multiple awards including Best Cruise Line and Best for Families, which they took top billing as the best family line in 2013. Disney Cruise Line left the ceremony empty handed this year. DCL did receive a highly commended in Best for Families category which went to Royal Caribbean. I guess it should be noted that Disney Cruise Line’s presence in the European market is limited to a few months a year (well the same can be said for Royal Caribbean), but still this shows that other cruise lines are focused on taking away the coveted family cruise market.
