Move over Mickey and Minnie, The Pixar Crew of Mr. Incredible, Remy, Woody, Jessie, Buzz Lightyear and other memorable Pixar characters will be boarding the Disney Wonder for four Pixar-inspired 7-night California Coastal cruises from September 16 – October 14, 2012.
During these voyages, Disney Cruise Line guests will be able to interact with and explore the world of Pixar and their beloved films between ports along the coast of California. Sailing out of Los Angeles, the Disney Wonder will call on San Francisco, San Diego and Ensenada, Mexico.
Throughout the cruise there will be presentations by the artists and filmmakers from Pixar Animation Studios providing inside looks at Pixar’s creative development process. Guests will have the opportunity to go behind the scenes and explore the making of Brave, Pixar’s newest release coming to theaters this June. Who knows, there may be a sneak peak into some upcoming Pixar projects.
A special art exhibition will feature storyboards, character sketches, environment paintings, maquettes and other inspiring concept art used to design Pixar films. Previously, this collection was on display at leading art museums around the world.
During the sailings guest will be able to enjoy the complete library of Pixar films and shorts with viewing opportunities in The Buena Vista Theater and The Walt Disney Theatre. Guest will also be able to take in a Pixar flick on Funnel Vision or in-stateroom televisions. The voyages coincide with the premier of Finding Nemo 3D which guest can enjoy at either the Walt Disney or Buena Vista theaters fitted with state-of-the-art Dolby 3D projection systems.
Disney Cruises never disappoint when it comes to character meet & greets and these cruises will be no different with more than a dozen Pixar characters meeting guests throughout the cruise. The Atrium Lobby will come alive with Pixar-themed dance parties and a host of other opportunities for guests to reconnect with their favorite Pixar pals.
To remember this unique experience for years to come, guest will receive a commemorative lithograph created by Pixar artist and “Brave” co-director/screenwriter, Steve Purcell.
