We are now home, unpacked and settling back into to normal life following 7-nights on the reimagined Disney Magic. We wanted to provide you all with a follow up to our first impressions, as well as some final thoughts on the Disney Magic. We returned to PortMiami earlier this morning aboard the reimagined Disney Magic’s marking the end of her first sailing following her extended transformation that started in Cadiz , Spain and “finished” just days ago in Port Canaveral. Early this morning under the cover of darkness, the Disney Magic pulled into her new home at PortMiami following a transformation that started last month in Cadiz, Spain.
On Sunday, October 20th the Disney Dream set sail on a 4-Night Bahamian cruise from Port Canaveral while the Disney Magic was berthed near Jetty Park behind schedule. The Disney Magic was originally set to relaunch in Miami on Sunday, but due to some issues that sailing was canceled a just three days prior.

The Disney Magic returned to Port Canaveral around the lunch hour under beautiful clear Florida skies following her transatlantic crossing. The Disney Magic left dry dock on October 10th where many contractors remained onboard to complete unfinished tasks. Following a stop in Funchal, the Magic set off on a 6 day transatlantic crossing where she encountered weather conditions that hampered the contractors ability to complete the finishing touches in time for the first Miami sailing, which was canceled yesterday afternoon. The October 20th sailing of the Disney Magic has been cancelled. Disney Cruise Line is citing challenging weather conditions which made it impossible to complete the finishing touches following during the transatlantic crossing.
Guest affected by the cancelation will receive a full refund as well as reimbursement of airline change fees. As additional compensation passengers are being offered a complimentary sailing on the Disney Magic between now and May, 2014.
