Deposit Increase for Youth Activities Oceaneer Bands on the Disney Wish

Late last week, Disney Cruise Line quietly updated their FAQ on Oceaneer Bands, the wearable band provided to children 10 and under that allows them access in and out of Disney’s Oceaneer Club and Disney’s Oceaneer Lab. The change is specific to the Disney Wish with the deposit now $25 which will be charged to the stateroom account if the Oceaneer Band is not returned at the end of the voyage starting with the July 26, 2024 cruise.

According to the current FAQ page, this change is currently just for the Disney Wish while the remainder of the fleet will remain at a $12.95 deposit.

DCL Oceaneer Band Wish Deposit FAQ 20240614
There is no charge for participating in Disney’s Oceaneer Club and Disney’s Oceaneer Lab. However, a deposit will be placed on your shipboard account for the Oceaneer Band––a bracelet provided to children ages 10 and under that allows them access in and out of Disney’s Oceaneer Club and Disney’s Oceaneer Lab. The deposit amount varies by ship. Starting July 26, 2024, the Disney Wish deposit is $25; all other ships will remain at $12.95. You may choose to keep the Oceaneer Band as a memento—in which case your deposit will become a charge on your shipboard account. Otherwise, simply return your Oceaneer Band at the end of the voyage to have the deposit returned.

Keep in mind, an active DisneyBand+ worn by your child will also grant access in and out of Disney’s Oceaneer Club and Disney’s Oceaneer Lab.

An Oceaneer Band is required for children to access the Youth Club areas. Guests with DisneyBand+ may use their wristband to access Youth Club areas in lieu of the Oceaneer Band. If a child does not have their own DisneyBand+, an Oceaneer Band will be provided for them with the deposit based on the ship.

We will continue to monitor for changes across the fleet.
