Rumored Tangled Stage Show and Elsa on Course to Debut in May 2015 on the Disney Magic

A new report from StitchKingdom.com points to a May 2015 debut for an all new stage show based on Disney’s Tangled. The news of Rapunzel getting her own show was revealed by Alan Menken during a Disney D23 Expo conference call last summer. According to the report, the casting calls are looking for actors and dancers to fill almost twenty openings including the new key roles of Rapunzel, Flynn Rider, Mother Gothel, and the Stabbington Brothers.

The report from StitchKingdom also points to a casting call for Elsa which could very well end being incorporated into the Golden Mickeys.

The Disney Magic’s current stage show line up primarily features Disney Dreams – An Enchanted Classic, Villains Tonight!, and Twice Charmed: An Original Twist on the Cinderella Story. At this time, it is not clear if Tangled will replace one of the three main shows. The auditions do include roles for characters that appear in Villains Tonight! and Disney Dreams leaving Twice Charmed as the leading candidate to be replaced by Tangled based on this list, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Villains walked the plank.

Based on the casting call, it appears the Tangled stage show will likely be headed for the Disney Magic an will debut during the 15-night Eastbound Transatlantic Cruise which is scheduled to sail from Port Canaveral on May 15, 2015.

Seeing as how Golden Mickeys isn’t on the Magic, I think it’s more likely that Elsa and a Frozen segment would be incorporated into Disney Dreams. These casting calls are all about the Magic only.

Though really it’s surprising they’d debut this new show to replace a generally well liked show in Twice Charmed, rather than be on the Wonder to replace Toy Story which seems to be less popular.

This is great! My kids love the Dream Class ships, but the Magic is my favorite! I have thanksgiving 2015 booked, and they were upset (they like Kids Clubs better on the bigger ships). This will definitely make them happy!!! They LOVE Elsa!

Sorry, but it seems like you’ve gotten bad info. If you go to disneyauditions.com, the roles for the Magic clearly indicate that Villains is staying and Twice is the one being replaced. Unless they’re putting out wrong info in their official audition notices, looks like that’s the way it will be.
