According to a report from Houston’s KHOU, passengers sailing from the Port of Galveston will be be taxed by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission on all duty-free liquor and cigarette purchases made during a cruise. This new state tax started in January 2014 at the Port of Galveston and will expand to the Port of Houston by mid-October 2014.

Disney Cruise Line added one new Florida Resident and two new US Military Personnel rates this week with the majority of last week’s sailings still available. These rates are available to book today through Sunday, September 21, 2014 while inventory lasts. Disney Cruise Line’s continues to offer lower rate offers for Miami and Port Canaveral sailings remain available for anyone to book. Canadian Resident can still save on select sailings from mid-October through late-January.
Overnight, the tropical storm strengthened into Hurricane Odile. They system continues to move move northwest along the Mexican coastline. The Disney Wonder is sailing on an altered 14-night Eastbound Panama Canal Cruise skipping Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta in order to sail west of the storm in order to arrive for her scheduled transit through the Panama Canal next weekend.
As you can see below, the Disney Wonder is on course to avoid Hurricane Odile pending the current forecast track holds true.
