Disney Cruise Line Nominated in Four 2013 Cruise International Awards Categories

Cruise International, the leading UK cruise magazine announced the nominees for their third annual Cruise International Awards today.  The Cruise International Awards celebrate the very best in the cruise industry.  Awards will be presented at a ceremony in London in September 2013.  Disney Cruise Line was awarded Best for Kids at the 2012 Cruise International Awards ceremony which was broadcast on the Travel Channel. Summer 2013 Mickey Monitor Highlights the Reimagined Disney Magic with a Monsters University Twist

On a quarterly basis, Walt Disney World sends out a newsletter, called the Mickey Monitor, to most Passholders.  The Mickey Monitor typically provides a sneak peek at what will be happening in the parks in the upcoming months.  Last week, the Summer 2013 Mickey Monitor arrived in our mailbox, and to my suprise it was not like any previous issue.  The Summer Mickey Monitor has been creatively themed into  a Top Secret file from Monsters University. Special Offers on Disney Cruise Line Sailings as of 5/20/2013

This week marks the return of Florida Resident rates with two 3-Night sailing on the Disney Dream in early June.  The Disney Wonder arrived in Los Angeles today finishing her Westbound Panama Canal cruise, and now US Military Personnel can book the return Eastbound Panama Canal cruise in September.  The Farewell to Galveston special onboard credit offered was set to expire last week, but has been extended to May 30th.  The Canadian resident offer on an Alaskan cruise is still available as well as the special offers on Miami sailings on the reimagined Disney Magic. Tropical Depression One-E Forms on Opening Day of the East Pacific Hurricane Season UPDATE: Tropical Storm Alvin

Normally, we do not dedicate much time to the Pacific hurricane season (which started today), but today a tropical depression developed to the southwest of the latest reported position of the Disney Wonder. The Wonder is currently at Sea on day 10 of her 14 Night Westbound Panama Canal cruise.

May 15, 2013 – 8 AM PDT

At 8 AM Tropical Depression One-E was located about 650 miles south southwest of Acapulco, Mexico moving west at 12 mph, with maximum sustained winds of 35 mph. The forecast shows a gradual slowdown in the forward movement.

Mutiny on the Wonder: Pixar Pals Party Replacing the Pirates IN the Caribbean Deck Party on Alaskan Sailings

The Pixar gang will be invading the Disney Wonder during this summer’s Alaskan cruises which begin on May 27th.  Instead of the usual Pirates IN the Caribbean Deck Party, the Pixar gang will congregate in the Wonder’s atrium for a Pixar Pals Party.

The party will include an “unforgettable meet and greet” according to Disney Cruise Line, with some of the Toy Story gang as well as other Pixar favorites.  This party will conclude with an interactive sing along to the signature song, “You’ve Got a Friend in Me.”

A Cinco de Mayo Fiesta at Epcot with José Carioca

This past Saturday, we planned to spend the day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but we could not pass up the opportunity to meet José Carioca and the rest of The Three Caballeros.  The trio featured in Gran Fiesta Tour were outside the Mexico Pavilion, meeting guests as part of Disney’s Cinco de Mayo Limited Time Magic event.
