5 PM Update | Tropical Storm Bertha Passing Northern Bemuda
Tropical Storm Bertha is approximately 20 miles northwest of Fort de France, Martinique moving west-northwest at 24 mph. Maximum sustained winds remain at 50 mph with TS force wind extending outward, mostly to the northeast from the center to 115 miles. A weather station in Guadalupe recorded max winds of 35 mph with a gust of 52 mph.
The southeastern Bahamas are now under a tropical storm watch as well as Turks and Caicos.

This week, Disney Cruise Line published their Q2 – 2014 Voluntary Crime Allegation disclosure report for the period April 1 – June 30, 2014. During this period there were two allegations disclosed. The first involved an incident involving a stateroom host and passenger where charges were filed. The second allegation was made by a crew member against another crew member. During the quarter DCL estimated there were 230,000 passengers and a daily complement of 5000 crew members. According to the report, these allegations were reported to the appropriate law enforcement and government authorities.

Disney Cruise Line recently added a selection of port adventure for guests to choose when sailing to Ensenada, Mexico aboard the Disney Wonder. The Disney Wonder is schedule to make five calls to Ensenada in 2015. The first call will be next May following the Westbound Panama Canal sailing. The Wonder will embark on a 3-night Getaway Cruise from San Diego before heading north to Alaska. Personal Navigators from the Disney Wonder‘s 14-Night Mediterranean Cruise from Los Angeles - October 14 – 28, 2012. This was the second and final Hawaiian cruise for the Disney Wonder in 2012. There are two one way 10-night sailings scheduled in 2015 between Vancouver, Canada and Honolulu, Hawaii.
The inaugural Bon Voyage Awards from CruiseLine.com’s online magazine, were announced today. Disney Cruise Line took home many top honors including Best Mainstream Line. While DCL may be a little pricer than some of the competitions, the review panel felt the upgrades in service and cabins make all the difference. Disney Cruise Line was also named the Best for Multigenerational Families by offering exclusive spaces for both the kids and adults. Crystal Cruises topped the list for Best Service with Seaborurn Cruise Line and Disney Cruise Line rounding out the top three.

This week’s selection of special offers from Disney Cruise Line features the addition of the first October Southern Caribbean sailing for both Florida Residents and US Military Personnel. The overall number of special rates is dwindling as we get closer to the Halloween sailings. The Canadian resident rates for the last Alaskan is gone this week, but the 4-night Vancouver to San Diego remains available. Rates are available to book today through Sunday, August 3, 2014 while inventory lasts.
