On the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy, we always sail in Category 4E. Our previous Disney Dream was the 4-night Bahamas in 5036 and on Disney Fantasy it was the 7-night Eastern Caribbean in 5536. Based on these past two experiences, we never had an issue with noise or location for these two cabins. However, on this cruise, we were able to hear noise from both the Walt Disney Theater below and the Buena Vista Theater, 8 cabins and a bank of elevators aft. Now, the noise from the Walt Disney Theater is usually not an issue since the shows are during our waking hours, with the second show during our second seating dining. However, on this Halloween cruise, there was a 10:30 pm sing and scream showing of the Nightmare Before Christmas, which last well past midnight and was quite noisy in the cabin. As this was only one night of 4, we were willing to dismiss it as anomaly. The issues from the Buena Vista Theater were tied to the 10:30 pm showings of Guardians of the Galaxy, which lasted close to 1 am, and the sound and vibration from the theater shook our entire cabin and made it impossible to sleep. The Buena Vista Theater should not present an issue, like on our previous cruises, since we are forward of it with numerous cabins and a bank of elevators between us, but for whatever reason, that sound and vibration carried well into our cabin. This nullified the excellent location benefits of our cabin.
When we reported this sound issue to Guest Services, they were quite skeptical of the noise level and did not send anyone up to observe it as we suggested. They did on the last day of the cruise offer to move us to another cabin, but at that point, it was too little, too late.
