Everything about this room was excellent with the exception of the location and that is ONLY because of the room being as far forward as possible - very far from the elevators & most public areas. On the plus side - it is directly across the hall from the largest laundry room on the ship which was very convenient! We never noticed any noise from the laundry room or anywhere else. The bed & bathrooms are located on the right side of the room as you enter. It has the 'round' shower/tub which is very nice, but does make it a (very) little bit of a challenge for the person who sleeps on the side of the bed with the 'shower' bump out. Being a "family" ocean view stateroom, it's longer and roomier than the non-family rooms (except for the cats 1-3). The added space comes at the porthole end of the room from which a murphy bed unfolds giving extra space during the day. The porthole is very large - and provides an amazing view - you can sit in the window (pad provided) with plenty of room left over. We took our binoculars to watch the ships and sea life. I actually like this room better than the verandah rooms we've had because I can stay in the a/c and have a fantastic ocean view. From this room, you can even wave at the crew on the bridge! Our 6'4" adult son was very comfy on the murphy bed which affords a sweet close-up view out of the port hole at night (it's right next to the porthole). Except for the distance, this room is wonderful. If you enjoy the walk, then it's perfect. Quiet, comfy, very roomy, convenient to the laundry room, and great for those who appreciate a little extra exercise to compensate for all the great meals (and snacks).

Just returned from an October, 2015 sailing on the Fantasy. Room 9500 was great.
Layout: Room layout was reversed from the graphic on this site - closets to your left, and bathroom doors to your right upon room entry. Headboard of bed and sofa were on the right-hand wall.
Space: Overall, much larger than anticipated (having previously cruised only Carnival ships). There is tons of storage in the closets, coffee table, desk and dresser drawers, and under the bed, and lots of sleeping options. We were two adults and one 2.5 year old toddler, 3 large suitcases, 3 carry-on bags, an umbrella stroller, carseat, box full of Fish Extender gifts, diapers, wipes, a diaper pail, and had lots of space to spare.
Toddler friendliness: Huge porthole window with seat was a hit, as were the 24x7 Disney movies and shows on the TV. Room steward (Carol) was great with our daughter, as was the next cabin steward down the hall (also knew our daughter's name!).
Mini tub was a big hit, and the handheld sprayer was great for rinsing shampoo. We were on the fence about using the pack-and-play or one of the other 3 bed options: sofa bed, twin murphy bed, and ceiling pull-down bunk with rails. Our daughter is still happy in her crib at home. Ultimately, we decided to try the murphy bed surrounded by pillows, and it was a huge success. The ceiling bed was pretty high (scary for us, not her), and the sofa bed just didn't seem quite as comfortable. Plus, it was closer to us/the TV for late night noise. Carol was great with setting the bed up, and surrounding it with pillows to keep her safe. Naps were a little trickier, since a key is needed to lower the murphy bed, and we didn't want to chase Carol around at random times looking for it. We ended up opening the sofa bed for naps - which worked out well. Just surrounded her with pillow walls and we were good to go. Ended up sending the pack & play out of the room without ever opening it. I will also note that the diaper pail, while another great feature, was ultimately pretty silly. Carol cleaned the room 3x day, so a diaper in the regular trash can would have had little/no time to stink up the joint, should a "bad" one have ever happened while we were in the room.
Location: good and bad here. Certainly easy to find, and very low run past/ people walking/talking traffic and noise. All wins with a toddler napping/sleeping. On the fence about proximity to the laundry room. It certainly did get busy, particularly on formal and semi-formal night. The door to the room was always open (maybe no door, only doorframe?) so noise from people could definitely be heard in our room, but it was fairly muted. I don't recall hearing washer/dryer noise. If I did, it wasn't bothersome or worth noting.
Room was in very good condition. Everything in good working order - hair dryer, shower, tub, electronic safe, electric outlets, etc. I did notice some small crayon/marker marks on the desk and side of the muphy bed. (sure hope they weren't put there by my kid!). But nothing unexpected or in dire need of maintenance or attention. Shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and soaps were all H20 brand, a nice gender neutral scent, and good quality. Large seat/ledge in the shower was perfect for bathing kiddo AND shaving legs!
Of special note - there are needle safe disposal containers in the bathrooms for anyone requiring injections. A very thoughtful, unexpected gesture.
Enjoy your cruise!
