Disney Dream Stateroom Reviews

We stayed in stateroom number 11016 on the Disney Dream which is a concierge stateroom. This was our sixth Disney cruise and each time we have gone on a cruised we have moved up one deck. This was our first experience with concierge. I have to admit that the past cruises included the maiden voyage of the Disney Fantasy and a member cruise in 2013 and I thought I wonder how concierge can make the trip even more magical than the last two. Once you get through security with everyone at port Canaveral you have your own check in area and separate place to sit and wait until you can board the ship. I never found the check in lines very long or had trouble finding a place to sit and relax until you could board the ship so that part was not to big of a deal. The greatest perk in my opinion with this stateroom is that you get to board the ship first (meaning you get to the port early), and your stateroom is ready hours before the rest of the ship and you get you luggage extremely fast. I think we were in our room with our luggage by 12:45 and had already eaten in the concierge lounge and cabanas most people still had not been again to board the ship yet. From my point of view a person can gain almost a extra half a day on the ship longer from boarding first. we were the 3rd and 4th people to board. There is free cold food and pop/water (or alcohol if you like that) free right away and several times throughout the cruise. There are dedicated cast members to help you with anything you want although the cruise, however the only thing I heard on my few questions was no. If you plan ahead using the concierge or castaway membership booking window you will be just fine and have no need to worry.

The stateroom was nice a little bigger than the Category 4a and the floor plan is layout better. We did have trouble with the A/C and someone came and looked at in with in 45 minutes and said it was working fine just have to make sure the veranda door is closed all the way. I dislike that because if one person is sitting on the veranda and the other sitting on the couch in the stateroom you can not talk back and forth. The veranda has some echo to it but nothing that is bothersome. The biggest complain is the toilet smell. The bathroom really needed a complete deep clean to remove the smell and the stains from others, if I was on a cruise longer than 3 days the smell would have been a bigger issue as you tend to spend a little more time in your room on longer cruises. The carpet was really worn but the pattern and look was nice. Plenty of storage and the fridge was cold and had free pop and bottled water stocked daily. The bed and pillows were soft and you could get a different pillow if you wanted from a pillow menu. I never looked at the room service menu so no feed back. Being on deck 11 was great, it was easy to get to everything and close to the elevators. there was never a noise problem the only time I could hear other people was if we were all out on the verandas at the same time. This stateroom is on the port side and in my opinion if you have the choice the starboard side has better views when in port because of the way the ship docks.

over all the stateroom was nice and I would consider booking again if the price was close to the 4A and 5a like this cruise was and boarding the ship early on a short cruise is a huge perk and the biggest in my opinion.
