For the Disney Destiny, the design motif weaves powerful tales of heroism and purpose to forge a first-of-its-kind design theme: “Heroes and Villains.” Onboard, guests will be inspired, encouraged and empowered by heroes and villains alike, universally beloved for their strength of character and distinctive personalities. When guests are welcomed onboard the ship, they will enter the The Grand Hall – a striking and prominent gathering space, a living theater where heroes and villains from across the Disney universe take center stage and interact with guests in thrilling ways.

Black Panther Statue

Inspired by the rich lore, distinctive iconography and vibrant palette of Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther” films — including a stunning statue of the T’Challa, the Black Panther: King of Wakanda himself at the heart of the space. Below is a look at the maquette sculpted to use as reference for the full size sculpture build.

The Grand Hall brass statue features both T’Challa standing next to a black panther.

The onboard merchandise shops will offer a collectable figurine based on the Grand Hall Statue.

Disney Destiny Grand Hall

The kinetic environment of the Grand Hall will come to life with immersive shows and interactive programming.

The ever-changing Grand Hall will even react to the presence of certain characters through 360-degree lighting effects that fill the room with life and color, taking on the signature aura of some of the biggest personalities of Disney, Marvel beyond.

For example, Dr. Facilier will be lurking around the Grand Hall with dazzling parlor tricks, sleights of hand and games of chance. Dr. Facilier, the playfully sinister practitioner of the macabre from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “The Princess and the Frog,” may be lurking around the Grand Hall with a dazzling parlor trick or sleight of hand. Guests in search for a bit of mischief will get a kick out of his signature swindles and scams, joining him for a game of chance with nothing to lose.

Other times, Loki will try to declare himself ruler of the ship and its occupants, creating chaos throughout the voyage with grand proclamations, questionable storytelling, surprise competitions and more.

Intent on clearing his name with the mortals of Midgard, Loki will try to declare himself ruler of this vessel and its occupants.
