Disney Destiny – A look at the The Sanctum Lounge

The Sanctum has been a well kept secret both in the early days of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Disney Cruise Line which only revealed a teaser graphic mysterious lounge when the ship was unveiled last summer.

On Monday, the cruise line lifted the invisibility spell to reveal glimpse at Disney Cruise Line’s first lounge inspired by the powerful sorcerers and mystical artifacts of Doctor Strange, featuring familiar icons like the Cloak of Levitation and spell books from the library of Kamar-Taj.

The Sanctum is a centrally located entertainment parlor that will host a variety of activities throughout the voyage, offering guests a magical array of mocktails, cocktails, spirits and coffees along with entrancing table side beverage experiences and exclusive menu items that seemingly materialize from across the multiverse.

Circle of the Cosmos – A Zero-Proof (Non-Alcoholic) Beverage made with Brunswick Aces Diamonds Gin, Verjus Blanc (Tart Grape Juice), and fresh lemon juice garnished with a lemon peel spiral. Served in an upside down martini glass.

Vapors of Valtorr – a Grey Goose Altius Vodka, ginger beer, fresh lime juice, and butterfly pea flower syrup topped with berry-flavored bubbles.

The Grey Goose Altius is not an easy bottle of vodka to source here in Florida. This unique variant is made with spring water from the French Alps and soft winter wheat from Picardie.

The Sanctum will also offer stuffed waffles available with custard cream or mixed berry compote filling.

Special thanks to Disney Cruise Line for inviting us out to experience the Disney Destiny Showcase event. The Disney Destiny will begin sailing from Fort Lauderdale later this year with a maiden voyage on November 20th. The inaugural season will feature 4- and 5-night cruises to The Bahamas and Western Caribbean, including visits to one or both of Disney Cruise Line’s island destinations, Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.

Love this sneak peek into The Sanctum! The Doctor Strange theme is such a cool and unique idea for a Disney Cruise Line lounge. The drinks like “Circle of the Cosmos” sound amazing, though I’m curious about those “exclusive menu items” from the multiverse—would love to learn more about them. Overall, this seems like a great addition to the cruise!
