The Disney Destiny’s one-of-a-kind confectionary shop, Edna Á La Mode Sweets, near the upper decks will feature a selection of handmade gelato, ice cream, cookies, candies and specialty treats will be served from Edna Mode’s lab, where the famed fashion designer whips up outfits for the world’s most famous Supers in Pixar’s “The Incredibles” films.

The space will center around character statues of Edna and Dash of which, Walt Disney Imagineering shared some behind the scenes photos of the work in progress. Taking cues from the “Auntie Edna” short film, the statues showcase Edna Mode — fashion designer for the world’s most famous Supers — hard at work while attempting to entertain the unpredictable super baby Jack-Jack with sweet treats.

Imagineers partnered with Pixar Animation Studios to create the sculptures, from sketch to digital model to reality. When finished, they’ll be transported to the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany for installation and finally prepared for the sweetest of photo ops aboard the Disney Destiny.


Edna Mode’s lab, where the famed fashion designer from Pixar Animation Studios’ “The Incredibles” films whips up outfits for the world’s most famous Supers, has been transformed – equipment once used to make super suits for the Incredibles has been repurposed to produce a sweet treats for guests.

Special thanks to Disney Cruise Line for inviting us out to experience the Disney Destiny Showcase event. The Disney Destiny will begin sailing from Fort Lauderdale later this year with a maiden voyage on November 20th. The inaugural season will feature 4- and 5-night cruises to The Bahamas and Western Caribbean, including visits to one or both of Disney Cruise Line’s island destinations, Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.
