Recommended Gratuity Increased Across the Fleet – January 2025

Overnight, Disney Cruise Line updated the recommended gratuity for Guests. Across the fleet, the recommended gratuity for guests staying in non-Concierge accommodations is now $16.00 USD per night, per stateroom guest. For guests staying in Concierge accommodations, the recommended gratuity is now $27.25 USD per night, per stateroom guest.

If you already pre-paid gratuities for an upcoming cruise are locked into the previous recommended gratuities. However, you can increase the gratuities once onboard by visiting guest services.

It is customary to give gratuities in recognition of exceptional service, which you’ll receive in abundance aboard the ship. We recommend a gratuity amount of $16.00 USD per night, per stateroom Guest, including infants and children.

Pre-Paid Gratuities are distributed to the crew members who take care of you in the following roles:

  • Dining room server
  • Dining room assistant server
  • Dining room head server
  • Stateroom host

Guests staying in Concierge Staterooms and Suites are recommended a gratuity amount of $27.25 USD per night, per stateroom Guest. This includes gratuity for the assistant stateroom host, who services the Concierge accommodations, and the Concierge Lounge team, in addition to the positions listed above.

A true DCL Fan will know this is a good thing. The teams work so hard and do such a fabulous over-the-top job. They deserve this pay bump. Good pay is the main way to retain good talent and keep their legendary service going strong.

I agree they need better compensation ; what I do not agree with is that it is let to the final customer to deal with.
Disney should in my opinion increase base salaries and/or bonuses if they get any

True, it’s not a huge increase, however, I wished that DCL would have indicated whether or not the base pay/benefits for Cast members would be increasing as well, their hard work needs to be rewarded with a commensurate pay increase, especially during these times with increased costs for virtually everything. I’m happy to give a gratutity to all the hard working Cast members on our cruises and we frequently exceed the “minmum” requested ones. Loyalty and hard work should be recognized as such.
