Today, Disney Cruise Line sent emails to guests booked on tomorrow’s Disney Fantasy 7-night Western Caribbean sailing with new that the voyage will not sail to the Eastern Caribbean to avoid what is currently Tropical Storm Sara.

While the current forecast from the Natural Hurricane Center shows the system south of the Western Caribbean ports of call, some model runs show the system heading east once it reaches the Gulf of Mexico. In the email, the cruise line says they have been closely monitoring Tropical Storm Sara in the Western Caribbean. The current forecast track shows the system continuing to move through and possibly impacting conditions in the Western Caribbean during the sailing. As a result, a decision was made to change the itinerary. Instead of visiting Cozumel, Mexico, George Town, Grand Cayman, and Falmouth, Jamaica, the Disney Fantasy will now visit Tortola, British Virgin Islands, on Tuesday, and St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, on Wednesday. Then, visit Castaway Cay on Friday as scheduled.
The revised November 16, 2027 Disney Fantasy sailing is as follows.
7-Night Eastern Caribbean Cruise from Port Canaveral
- Saturday November 16, 2024 – Port Canaveral, Florida
- Sunday November 17, 2024 – At Sea
- Monday November 18, 2024 – At Sea
- Tuesday November 19, 2024 – Tortola, British Virgin Islands
- Wednesday November 20, 2024 – St. Thomas, USVI
- Thursday November 21, 2024 – At Sea
- Friday November 22, 2024 – Castaway Cay
Saturday November 23, 2024 – Port Canaveral, Florida (Debarkation)

The email states Port Adventures that were pre-reserved in Cozumel, George Town, and Falmouth will automatically be removed from guests’ onboard account, while those for Castaway Cay will remain as scheduled. Port Adventures for Tortola and St. Thomas may be booked onboard through the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app or at the Port Adventures Desk.
I am on this sailing. Though I feel bad for those who were on this cruise for a specific port i am more than happy to have an additional day at sea.
Friends of us are on this sailing,
i would love to have this route instead of an “more boring” Cozumel+Falmouth,
writing this just to make sad faces look a bit happier.
