Disney Treasure Floats Out and Disney Destiny Floating Engine Room (FERU) Floats In at the Meyer Werft Shipyard in Germany

Today, August 3, 2024, the Disney Treasure was floated out of Hall 6 at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. Ems-Dollart Media shared a highlight video of the ship’s repositions from her cocoon to the pier just outside the construction hall.

Below is a full replay from Hamburg Port Live’s live stream with commentary in German. About 1 hour and 32 minutes in you can hear the Disney Treasure play her horn.

At the end of the stream, you can see the Floating Engine Room Unit (FERU) for the Disney Destiny repositioned into Hall 6.

Here are some more social media postings from folks who were onsite to see the Disney Treasure float out in Germany.

The day after the float out, the Disney Treasure’s lifeboat deployment and thrusters were tested.

The Disney Treasure will remain docked at ship yard for a little while to while some of the taller structures are added such as the smoke stacks. The next big move for the Disney Treasure will be the Ems River Conveyance. For reference, the Disney Wish was floated out on February 11, 2022 with the Ems River Conveyance occurring 47 days later on March 30, 2022. Only Meyer Werft and Disney really know the timeline, but for an estimate based on the previous Wish Class build, 47 days from today is September 19th.

That was really fun to watch! Her whistle seems more sophisticated than the others. She’s a big girl for sure.

So the Wish floated out Feb 11 and had her Maiden on July 14 right? So just about 5 months later. We are 4.5 months from Treasure’s Maiden on Dec 21. So a bit behind the Wish’s eventual timeline? Or is the interior more done so it will even out?
