Today, Disney Cruise Line announced some plans for the Disney Dream’s upcoming dry dock. After spending the summer season in Europe, the Disney Dream head to dry dock before her October 20th Westbound Transatlantic cruise. Some of the new updates include an updated Oceaneer Club and a brand-new funnel suite to a new concierge lounge, revamped spa, and a catina to get some tacos!
All New Funnel Suite & Expanded Concierge Lounge
The forward funnel of the Disney Dream is about to completely transform into the Dream Tower Suite! In homage to the Disney Dream’s stern character, Sorcerer Mickey, the all-new, two-story funnel suite will be themed to the classic Walt Disney Animation Studios film, “Fantasia,” and its beloved sequence, “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” (enchanted brooms not included). Full of gilded features that reflect the Disney Dream’s art deco motif, this spectacular suite will immerse guests in Sorcerer Mickey’s magic, including celestial-inspired surroundings, carpet design inspired by flowing water, and a chandelier reminiscent of his famous control of the waves. 13000, this new stateroom will take over the Outlook and Edge.
Concierge guests will sing “bless my soul!” in the harmonious fashion of the Muses as they enter an expanded Concierge Lounge, an all-new space inspired by the Disney Animation film, “Hercules,”and the heavenly Mount Olympus. The ethereal lounge will have light, airy details and rich colors inspired by the clouds of Mount Olympus, with hints of bright gold evoking the gates to the kingdom of the gods.
Revamped Youth Spaces
The Oceaneer Club and EDGE will both see significant changes during the Disney Dream’s 2024 dry dock. A state-of-the-art lab, thanks to members of the Worldwide Engineering Brigade, or “WEB” for short, will be swinging into the Oceaneer Club. At Marvel WEB Workshop, young recruits will be able to test new suit prototypes for Spider-Man and other heroes and conduct training simulations using WEB technology to fend off enemies from the Workshop – no pressure, of course. The best part? Avenger mentors will drop by the workshop to check in on their progress!
With the Funnel Suite taking over, Edge will relocate to deck 5. Edge, the tween club for guests ages 11-14, will debut new features, including access to an outdoor deck with a ball pit and recreational games, all exclusively for Edge and Vibe. Edge will also include a club lounge and dance floor for unforgettable parties with new friends.
Treat Yourself!
Finally, Senses Spa & Salon will be refreshed with a new check-in area, and will expand to include new treatment rooms.
But wait, there’s more! Last but not least, joining the quick service dining options on Deck 11 will be a guest favorite cantina, offering all your favorite tacos, burritos and bowls!
The Disney Dream will complete her 2024 European season on September 15, 2025, then spend a little over a month at a dry dock facility where the ship will undergo routine maintenance, along with the announced renovations. On October 20th, the Disney Dream will welcome passengers onboard for a 13-Night Westbound Transatlantic cruise from Southampton ending in Fort Lauderdale.
Any idea how they are going to expand this concierge lounge?
There has to be more, no? No way Enchanted Garden survives.
Where exactly is Edge going to go?
My DD wants to know the same thing!
Also looks like they are ruining the Vibe.
So I guess this means that the rumours of Enchanted Garden being renovated are false? Or is there still a chance more info will be released later?
Also, there was speculation that part of the Satellite Falls area would be taken over for an expanded concierge sun deck. Any word on this?
I’ll be SO MAD if Satellite Falls leave public space.
Also what about the Ice Cream Parlor on a Disney Magic class soon?
No disrespect, but do we really need an ice cream parlor on the Magic and Wonder? Isn’t it bad enough that more and more space is being lost to Concierge and jewelry stores? In addition, do we really need to lose space to another money making machine for DCL? There’s soft serve available for 12 hours a day, everyday on deck 9, there’s traditional scooped frozen ice cream available in Cabanas, there’s Mickey bars available 24/7 via room service and there’s some iteration of ice cream for dessert every night at dinner. The cruises are expensive enough, don’t need to pay for ice cream / gelato. For me, I’ll pass on an ice cream parlor.
Have you heard if the updated concierge will offer hot food like the Wish? Are they installing a kitchen in the area? I just love the Wish concierge.
Those details were not provided.
If they get rid of satellite falls to make more Concierge lounge space, the Dream is over for me.
Hope they upgrade the consierge rooms from the queen, double fold out sleeper sofa configuration. No one wants to pay consierge prices to squeeze on an uncomfortable sleeper sofa. Almost didn’t book bc of that fact.
Where will the cantina be located? Are they replacing something? I hope not Fillmore’s
Details have not been revealed as to the location. However, a safe bet would be in the area of the upper deck.
