If you are onboard and have a placeholder to use, is there a way to use the placeholder since you cannnot use it when booking online?

I booked my Treasure Cruise with a placeholder during the castaway club prebooking period using the live chat feature on the DCL website was so much easier than calling.

Great! Where port is Destiny sailing out of? What is the first date for earliest early booking? Thanks

If tradition holds true, it will start sailing out of Port Canaveral. The booking dates haven’t been released yet, but will most likely be made public at some point during the up-coming 3-day reveal.

The Destiny will be sailing out of Fort Lauderdale because the contract they signed with the Port Everglades cruise port said they will have 2 seasonal ships operating as of 2025 (First ship being the Dream)

@Fish86 -> Yes, but that doesn’t mean DCL isn’t going to re-locate the Wish or the Fantasy. From an itinerary perspective out of PC, the Dream “replaced” the Wonder, the Fantasy “replaced” the Magic, the Wish “replaced” the Dream, the Treasure is “replacing” the Fantasy and I expect the Destiny will “replace” the Wish. All DCL ships have started, or will be starting (Treasure), service out of Port Canaveral and I don’t anticipate the Destiny will be any different. Port Canaveral has the highest DCL passenger count than any other port DCL is currently sailing out of (or has sailed out of previously). Sending a brand new ship to a port that has less than half the DCL foot traffic that PC has, just doesn’t make sense to me. The Port Canaveral schedule currently only goes until September 2024 and the Port Everglades schedule currently only goes until August 2024, but we shall see in a few days during the reveal. My bet is still on PC. Scott, what are your thoughts on this?

My only thought is that Fort Lauderdale, now a year round home for Disney Cruise Line with a dedicated and custom terminal, should probably have a newer Wish Class vessels.

One last comment on this before the reveal. I’ve been thinking more about the various possible scenarios for the Destiny based on what has already been scheduled by DCL. As a result, I’m scaling back my thoughts (a little) of the Destiny “replacing” the Wish role. We know for a fact that the Destiny will set sail at some point in December 2025 (as per DCL’s announcement). We know for a fact that the Wish will continue to sail uninterrupted from PC through at least 05/29/2026. We know for a fact that the Treasure will sail uninterrupted out of PC beginning 12/21/2024 through at least May 30, 2026. And we also know that after the Fantasy’s summer 2025 stint in Europe (replacing the Dream), it will return to PC on 11/02/2025 and will sail out of PC until at least 05/29/2026. This puts three DCL vessels in PC in December 2025 when the Destiny is set to launch. This may lead to the thought that four DCL vessels at PC wouldn’t be possible or feasible, but DCL will soon begin utilizing cruise terminal 10 on multi-ship days. Not a slam dunk, but it still leaves the possibility there. We know that the PE contract calls for one vessel to be home-ported there year-round and a second “seasonal” vessel. Once the Dream returns back from Europe / drydock this November, it will sail uninterrupted out of PE from 11/02/2024 to at least 04/27/2026. This leads me to believe that this 18-month stay is a solid indicator the Dream will be the “year-round” vessel. If this is the case, I feel the chances of the Destiny being the contractual “seasonal” vessel are low. All of this leads me to two conclusions: 1) DCL could throw us a complete curveball and not have the Destiny sail out PC or PE at all (to start) or 2) the Fantasy will head back to Europe for 2026 and will be the “seasonal” vessel at PE after it returns from Europe in the Fall of 2026. There is, however, one small kink with the Fantasy possibly returning to Europe in 2026. Typically, the annual trek over to Europe occurs in early May whereas the earliest the Fantasy could begin the transatlantic crossing would be 06/03/2026. If this scenario were to play out, despite the “kink”, this would put 4 vessels in PC for the first quarter of 2026 should the Destiny start out of PC. Scott, thanks for letting me use your platform to comment and share my DCL thoughts!
