All Aboard Times Moving Up 1 Hour for Select Sailings from Fort Lauderdale and Port Canaveral Beginning in September 2024

Disney Cruise Line is in the process of contacting guests booked on Disney Magic and Disney Wish sailings departing from Port Canaveral and Fort Lauderdale about a change in their all aboard time. Beginning with departures on September 2, 2024 the All Aboard time for embarkation day is changing from 4:00 PM to 3:00 PM. This means all guests must be onboard by 3:00 PM.

Disney is also recommending those with independent flight arrangements arriving the day of the cruise to check the arrival times to ensure adequate time to get to cruise terminal for check-in and boarding by 3:00 PM.

Below is a copy of the email guest will be receiving.

DCL Email All Aboard FL Time Change 20240702

7/2/2024

Dear Scott,

We look forward to welcoming you aboard the [Disney Ship] and want to let you know about a change in the published All Aboard time for your sailing.

The All Aboard time for your sailing has recently changed from 4:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. All Guests must be onboard by 3:00 p.m. Guests arriving after 3:00 p.m. or without proper citizenship documentation will be denied boarding. Guests with independent flight arrangements may wish to check our website at disneycuise.com for the recommended fight-time guidelines for their departure port.

We apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause. It is our hope that Guests will enjoy getting their sailing underway an hour earlier.

Beginning approximately 30 days prior to your sailing, you will want to complete Online Check-in. Completing Online Check-In will streamline your port arrival experience. As part of this process, you will need to submit the required citizenship documents as well as select a Port Arrival Time. Online Check-in can be completed or modified up to one day prior to sailing.

Should you have questions about your upcoming voyage, please contact us at 1-866-325-6685 or 407-566-7797, or your travel advisor.

We look forward to welcoming you aboard soon.

Sincerely,

The Cast and Crew
Disney Cruise Line

In September 2024, the Disney Magic is sailing from Fort Lauderdale, Florida while the Disney Wish sails from Port Canaveral, Florida. The all aboard times for your cruise should be up to date when completing the Online Check-In process starting 30-days before your sail date.

I remember my first DCL sailing aboard the Magic on September 13, 1999. Due to Hurricane Floyd, we left Port Canaveral between 30 minutes and an hour early. I assume the all-aboard time adjustment is due to the 2024 hurricane season. I also look forward to early departures for the July 2024 sailings.

Scott, any knowledge on why the change? I’m guessing if you knew you would likely have mentioned it. Just curious, as there’s a lot of speculation out there as to why DCL did this and I’m curious to know the ‘real’ reason (if anyone knows, lol).

Got this email too. Not worrisome coming from in state (I feel like you’re cutting it close if this hour makes a difference).

I am curious if port arrival times are going to start any earlier? I doubt they’ll be able to turn the ship over any faster but that would be my only question.
