The Disney Wish arrived at her homeport of Port Canaveral shortly after 5:00 AM ET ending an 11-night Transatlantic crossing. Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship was welcomed with a traditional water cannon salute from Port Canaveral’s Fire Rescue Fireboat 2 along with hundreds of fans who gathered in the early Monday hours along the channel from Jetty Park to the cruise terminals.
Port Canaveral’s CEO Capt. John Murray says the port has been anticipating the homecoming for some time and the Canaveral Port Authority is proud of the longstanding partnership they have with Disney Cruise Line. The arrival of the Disney Wish adds to the growing number of impressive cruise ships providing high quality guest experiences from Port Canaveral.

The Port also shared the following set of images of the Disney Wish’s arrival.
A small event was held at Cruise Terminal 10 with Captain Minnie and Captain Mickey welcoming their newest vessel.
The Disney Wish will begin sailing test and preview cruises leading up to the the Maiden Voyage departing July 14th. The Disney Wish will be christened at a ceremony at the port on June 29th which Disney announced would be live streamed for everyone to take part in the festivities.

Watched the arrival of the Wish in Port Canaveral early this morning. Very nice to see the tugs and fireboat escort her in with the streams of water and lights. The Wish was also lit up. It was nice to see it was still dark out to allow for a spectacular scene. Can’t waite for our July 14 sailing.
What is the status on the Wish’s sister ships, boat 6 and 7?
They remain on the order book at Meyer Werft for delivery in 2024 and 2025.

That’s the first we’ve heard the musical horn accompanied by the ship horn. Interesting! Who gets to go on the preview cruises?
I never understood the reason why none of horns play “M-I-C–KEY MOUSE”
That would be interesting, but I guess they would need to do it carefully, as the cadence of the M-I-C, K-E-Y could be mistaken for three short blast by other vessels and interpreted as navigational sounds.
Are the verandah lights that are on attempting to spell something? Am I too dense to be able to “read” what it spells?
I do not believe the lights were on in any particular pattern.
My wife and I also tried to read what we thought was a message. So you are not alone.

As a long time DCL cruiser and fan, I have to say, the new horns sound absolutely terrible in video. Where they any better in person? They lost the magic of the originals.
They sounded completely out of tune together. Hope it’s better in person or the ship will be banned from ports!
