Upkeep
We were in this cabin on the Magic for 9 nights on a back-to-back 12/18 & 22/2013. Being just about 2 months after extensive drydock, the living portion of the stateroom is essentially new. The carpet, sofa and table, bed and nightstands are all brand new. All the soft goods (super soft towels, linens, crisp white comforter, foot dust cover, and curtains) are brand new. Even the steamer trunk was replaced with a brand new dresser. The bathrooms, however, have not been upgraded, though they were clean and still provide a good experience. We really enjoyed this Navigator's verandah because it has built-in loveseat seating as well as a table and chair, and we could watch the Pirate Night fireworks from this private space, thereby avoiding the crowds up on deck. We experienced no noise from neighboring cabins and there was minimal hallway noise. The stateroom does creak at night when sailing, though, and did wake us up two nights during rough weather (50mph winds and 12ft waves). It's just up 2 decks to Cabanas for breakfast and lunch, and down 3 decks to Animator's or 4 decks to Carioca's for dinner. Also, the aft elevators and stairs are much less used than those at midship. Nonetheless, this classic ship is still just 984 ft with the new ducktail, so even walking forward to other venues is quick.
