Meyer Werft Hull Numbers 705, 718, and 706 Assigned to Disney Cruise Line’s New Builds

Since Disney’s announcement to expand the fleet to six, then shortly after 7 ships we’ve all been on the edge of our seats waiting for the next bit of news. A few weeks ago, DCL whet our appetites with an rendering of the new ship class and now we are excited to share some more information directly from the shipbuilder, Meyer Werft.

The new Disney Cruise ship hull numbers were revealed in a Meyer Werft press document dated late-February 2018. I’d like to thank Chris Laliberte for sending me an email alerting me to this information. According to the Meyer Werft document the hull numbers for the new ships are as follows:

Meyer Werft also revealed the new Disney Cruise ships will be 343 meters, 4 meters longer than the Dream and Fantasy. The document also confirmed the passenger max would remain 4000.

All ship names, design plans and itineraries are still in development, with each of the ships expected to have their own unique experiences. The three new ships will be powered by clean-burning liquefied natural gas and be the same size – approximately 135,000 gross tons with about 1,250 guest staterooms planned – which is slightly larger than the newest Disney Cruise Line ships, the Disney Dream (hull s.687) and Disney Fantasy (hull s.688).
