Freezing the Night Away with Anna, Elsa, and Friends – Skagway, Alaska 7/30/2017

During our summer cruise to Alaska, we had the opportunity to experience a day of Frozen fun aboard the Disney Wonder. The day features a freezing over of the atrium, a ship wide scavenger hunt, special shows and events, and even a Frozen themed menu.

Frozen Wonder Atrium

Freezing the Night Away with Anna, Elsa, and Friends has been a recurring deck 9 event on select 7-night and longer summer cruises aboard the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder. The show features songs form the film along with virtual visits from Sven, Olaf and the trolls via Funnel Vision. The deck party culminates with Elsa’s powerful ice magic.

You may have noticed a brief skip in the show at the 4 minute and 50 second mark. This was a result of a show stop during an announcement from the security office who was attempting to track down a passenger who was either not back from the day ashore or there was an error checking back on. Regardless, the cast of the show did a great job during the show stop and as you just watched picked up like nothing ever happened. Below is the outtake with the passengers name redacted.

One of the other activities during a Day of Frozen Fun, is Oaken’s Maypole Swirl and Twirl activity in the atrium or sometimes on the pool deck if weather permits. In our case, we’ve experienced this event in the atrium lobby on both the Magic & Wonder.

Oaken's Maypole Twirl And Swirl Disney Magic

The Swirl and Twirl event is a midsummer celebration of sorts where guests take a swirl and a twirl around the maypole while learning some traditional songs and dances. Below is a brief video of guests partaking the the experience.
