Information on WDW Park Hopper Ticket and Fastpass+ for Disney Magic Sailings from New York

Emails are being sent out by Disney Cruise Line to guests booked aboard the Disney Magic’s upcoming 7- and 8-night Bahamian cruises from New York with a port day at Port Canaveral. The email provide additional details on the included 1-day Walt Disney World Resort ticket with Park Hopper which includes three FastPass+ selections.

Guests will not need to make FastPass+ selections in advance of their visit as the three Fastpass+ selections can be used at most attractions with the exception of Avatar Flight of Passage and Na’vi River Journey in Pandora – The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Pandora In The Morning

According to the email, complimentary motorcoach transportation will be provided from Port Canaveral at select times beginning as early as 7:30am. Return transportation will be available throughout the afternoon and up until just before regular park closing time, excluding ticketed holiday events. Travel to Walt Disney World will take approximately 90 minutes and DCL is asking guests to plan their first activity no earlier than two hours from your bus departure time.

DCL is asking that guests sign up online for a departure time and Theme Park to start your day in the My Cruise Activities section of the online Planning Center as soon as their pre-reserve booking window opens.

  • First Time Guests 75 days prior to sail date
  • Silver Castaway 90 days prior to sail date
  • Gold Castaway 105 days prior to sail date
  • Platinum Castaway 120 days prior to sail date

You can find out when your booking window opens by logging into your reservation on DCL’s website or click on your cruise date below to see the important dates. (Please keep in mind, we do our best to provide the correct date information, but the date listed on DCL’s website is what matters.)

During most of these sailings, the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival will occurring.

Disney Cruise Line is asking that guests keep in mind that many Disney table-service restaurants are quite popular and can book very quickly. Guests who would like to make dining reservations may do so up to 180 days in advance online at http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/reservations/dining/ or by calling (407) WDW-DINE. Of course, my pick would be The BOATHOUSE at Disney Springs if you wanted to explore outside a theme park and keep that nautical feel to your trip.

I’d love to see DCL tie the Disney Wonder’s west coast sailings and the Disneyland Resort together. However, even when the Wonder sailed from San Pedro which was relatively close to Disneyland, Disney didn’t seem to make much of an effort to leverage the two together. I guess now with sailings currently from San Diego, this make the pairing of the Wonder and Disneyland difficult if not impossible – this is too bad and I think a loss for Disney overall? Disney seems to work hard at connecting the Disney World Resort and DCL together but almost seems to forget about Disneyland on the west coast…..

I agree – we are doing the 7-night Baja in October, and although it wasn’t much trouble to put together our own travel plans for Disneyland and the other things we’re doing while we’re out there, it would have been cool to have the option of a package.

Agree. We just did the transition cruise this May from San Diego to Vancouver. We visited DLR before our cruise and saw many folks boarding in San Diego that had also visited DLR first.

I’m not surprised they won’t let the rule free fp+ be used on pandora. However I’m waiting for other people to get very upset. It amazes me how few people read their Mickey emails.

I too am very upset about this, it’s a little unfair since we can’t book our fast passes ahead of time.

Regulation change on September 2017 and the 3 fast pass can be now used any attraction including Avatar and Na’vi river journey in pandora.

That’s how I read it too, we cannot use our FP+ on only those 2 attractions. If we were anyone else with a normal admission to AK, we could book a fast pass at one or both of the Pandora attractions 60 days ahead of time (if staying on property). Since we have these through DCL and cannot pre-book the FP+, we effectively cannot experience FOP or NRJ, unless we want to spend a lot of time in the stand-by line. These new attractions at Pandora were my #1 priority, at least until we received this email from DCL. We did this same cruise last year, with a stop at WDW and there were no such restrictions on our FP+ with park hopper passes. Am I wrong or missing something here? I doesn’t make sense.

The email makes it sound like the last bus back to port will leave before Happily Ever After (“just before regular park closing time). I emailed DCL requesting confirmation that there would be buses leaving MK after HEA and they were very unhelpful. I’m disappointed in Pandora FP+, but beyond frustrated that I can’t get an answer on transportation back to the port.

My experience from our cruise last fall was we had plenty of time to get to the bus post fireworks in the Magic Kingdom and wound up standing in line for a bit waiting for the next bus to pull up. We were really nervous about making it back in time, but found we really didn’t need to rush. I think the original email is vague since closing hours vary between dates and parks. My experience has generally been more positive on the phone than email with them so if you’d feel better hearing it from them for sure try calling.

A bit disappointed about Avatar but not surprised for the cruise this year with how popular the new rides are. I could see it throwing the timed fast passes off if we all show up at once from the cruise trying to use ours.

Love to actually see this email. So far no-one in the sailing group I am part of has received it. When is this email supposed to be sent out?

I imagine it is being sent out in batches for each sailing. If this was the first batch, then based on the date of the letter it was sent out 105 days (15 weeks) prior to the first sailing.

I also added the full email to the post. I forgot to upload and attach the image. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

Just did the November 11 sailing and surprisingly the FastPass actually worked after the third use. We didn’t realize until we get to the 2nd park, at that time we thought maybe each park comes with 3 FastPass, not 3 FastPass in one day; we were wrong, actually it worked everytime you scanned it. We were able to hop to three parks from leaving the port at 8:15pm and taking the 8pm motorcoach back. If we knew ahead the FastPass works that way, I would plan to go all 4 parks, and made MK at our last stop and watch the fireworks before taking the last bus at 10:45pm! Unlimited fastpass meaning get in and out to the popular rides or go back to back ride without lining up! How awesome that was! totally my highlight of the cruise!

Did you use 3 fp in the 1st park you entered and then tried and succeeded in park #2 with 3 more fp? Did your work with fop?

I didn’t use 3 FP in 1st park, coz’ we were saving the “3rd FP” for the 2nd park…then we realized it actually worked with the 4th, 5th and on without issue…coz’ normally after you use up your first 3 pass, you can get a 4th, 5th, etc. one at a time with a schedule time according to availability…but the Disney Cruise FP doesn’t come with restriction on scheduling your next pass, so it’s pretty much endless usage of the FP…we did a few back to back rides in the 3rd park as well. However, not all rides have FP options, so plan ahead which rides you want to do…and just target them in each park and hop to next one when you are done.
