Disney Magic Enters Dry Dock in Cádiz, Spain – Disney Cruise Line Confirms Concierge Lounge

The Disney Magic is now in Cádiz, Spain where she will be receiving guest upgrades along with some other work. According to a report from Diario de Cadiz the Disney Magic’s 2015 dry dock will employ about 400 workers, working shifts around the clock. Some of the behind the scenes work will include work on the mechanical systems, piping, and paint. One interesting item mentioned in the article is the pre-installation of a propulsion system to improve the hydrodynamic performance to reduce fuel consumption.

The actual location of the dry dock is different from 2013, this year the Disney Magic is located closer to downtown across the bay from Navantia’s Puerto Real yard.Disney Magic Cadiz Dry Dock Map 20150907

Cádiz Digital published the following b-roll video of the Disney Magic in the Navantia shipyard.

So far, I found one live streaming HD webcam in Cádiz to see the Disney Magic in dry dock. It is not the best view, but it is a view none the less. She is just above the bridge on the left.

The Fall 2015 Castaway Club Members Magazine was recently published and for the first time Disney Cruise Line mentions the Concierge Lounge being added during the brief overview of the new excitement on the Disney Magic.

Finally, on Disney Magic, our littlest cruisers can get their glam on at the new Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, while adults take five in the new Concierge Lounge.

The Diario de Cádiz article once again links the Disney Wonder to Cadiz for dry dock.

Mr. Sanders, Do you know just what type of propulsion is being added? By saying they re doing only pre- installation, I would expect only work required in the dry dock will by done at Cadiz and the rest added later???
