Guests currently sailing aboard the Disney Wonder have been notified that the itinerary for their 14-Night Westbound Panama Canal Cruise will be altered this week. On May 12th, the Disney Wonder originally scheduled to call on Puerto Vallarta will instead spend the day at sea due to reports of unrest in the area, as well as warning from the U.S. Embassy.

Last September, Puerto Vallarta along with Cabo San Lucas were dropped off the Eastbound Panama Canal itinerary due to Tropical Storm Odile.
And today we have stopped in Guatemala for an medical emergency. Hoping the ill person is going to be okay.

A medical evac is not a secret. Often times there will be an announcement to give passengers the reason for the altered course. Additionally, pending on the port area a lifeboat may be used to transport the passenger to shore. Other times there may be an air lift and there is no hiding a helicopter hover above the ship, even if you cannot see it, you can hear it.
