11 PM Update | Tropical Storm Cristobal Moving Slowly North

Tropical Storm Cristobal remains on a north heading at 6 mph. The minimum central pressure remains at 998 mb. Cristobal is producing maximum sustained winds of 45 mph with tropical storm force winds are reaching outward up to 90 miles.

8 PM Update | Tropical Storm Cristobal Moving Erratically North – Invest 97L Is Born In the Atlantic

Tropical Storm Cristobal remains on a north heading but has been moving erratically and has slowed to 6 mph. The minimum central pressure has dropped to 998 mb. Cristobal is producing maximum sustained winds of 45 mph with tropical storm force winds are reaching outward up to 70 miles.

Invest 97L Appears in Atlantic
The NHC is monitoring a tropical wave about 800 miles west-southwest of the Cape Verde Islands. The wave is producing disorganized showers with a few thunderstorms. The current conditions are not favorable for development, but conditions could become more conductive by the end of the week.

5 PM Update | Tropical Storm Cristobal Moving North

Tropical Storm Cristobal remains on a north heading at 8 mph and is producing maximum sustained winds of 45 mph. Tropical storm force winds are reaching outward up to 70 miles.

The tropical storm warning for Southeastern Bahamas and Turks and Caicos has been discontinued. However, Central Bahamas remains under a tropical storm warning.

2 PM Update | Tropical Storm Cristobal Continues Slow Trek North

Tropical Storm Cristobal changed course and is now moving north at 7 mph. The tropical storm is producing maximum sustained winds of 45 mph with tropical storm force winds reaching outward up to 80 miles, mainly to the east. Some strengthening is expected into early next week. The long term intensity forecast has Cristobal reaching hurricane strength near the middle of the work week. The good news continues as the forecast track keeps the center in open Atlantic waters well to the east of Nassau and Castaway Cay.

11 AM Update | Tropical Storm Cristobal Slowly Moving Near the Southeastern Bahamas

Tropical Storm Cristobal is moving north-northwest near the Southeastern Bahamas at 7 mph. The tropical storm is producing maximum sustained winds of 45 mph with tropical storm force winds reaching outward up to 80 miles. Some strengthening is expected into early next week. The long term intensity forecast has Cristobal reaching hurricane strength near the middle of the work week. The positive news continues as the forecast track keeps the center in open Atlantic waters well to the east of Nassau and Castaway Cay.

Tropical Storm Cristobal is moving northwestward near the Southeastern Bahamas this morning at 9 mph. The tropical storm is producing maximum sustained winds of 45 mph with tropical storm force winds reaching outward up to 140 miles, mostly to the east. Some strengthening is expected into early next week. The long term intensity forecast has Cristobal reaching hurricane strength near the end of the work week. The positive news is the forecast track keeps the center in open Atlantic waters well to the east of Nassau and Castaway Cay.

6:20 AM Update | Tropical Depression Four Strengthens to Tropical Storm Cristobal

Real time data collected from NOAA and Air Force Hurricane Hunter recon flights indicate TD4 has strengthened to Tropical Storm Cristobal. Maximum sustained winds are now 45 mph with a minimum central pressure of 1002 mb. The system is moving to the northwest at 9 mph.

5 AM Update | Tropical Depression Four Expected to Become Tropical Storm Today

Tropical Depression Four continues to move northwest at 9 mph with maximum sustained winds of 35 mph. The system is showing signs of strengthening with the minimum central pressure is dropping to 1002 mb. TD4 is presently located 120 miles east-souteast of Long Island.

2 AM Update | Tropical Depression Four Expected to Become Tropical Storm Today

Tropical Depression Four continues to move northwest at 9 mph with maximum sustained winds of 35 mph. Minimum central pressure is slightly down to 1004 mb. TD4 is presently located 325 miles east-souteast of the Nassau.
