It’s All in the Details: The Atrium Lobby of the Disney Dream During Halloween on the High Seas

Happy Halloween! This year, Disney Cruise Line took it up a notch with Halloween on the High Seas cruises.  The Halloween sailings were fleet wide, with marquee experiences featured exclusively on the Disney Dream.  The Disney Dream’s atrium lobby railings were decorated with garland adorned with changing fall leaves on a purple background.  The focal point of the atrium was not Admiral Donald or the Chandelier, but The Pumpkin Tree.

One of the first thing you see when boarding, is the Pumpkin Tree with just a few leaves remaining.  Later in the evening, young guests place pumpkin seeds with their names into a cauldron as an offering to the tree.

Overnight, the Pumpkin Tree grew jack-0-lanterns from those very seeds.

The Pumpkin Tree was opposite the grand staircase in the same position as the Christmas tree is during the Holiday sailings.

Flanking the staircase were illuminated Mickey & Minnie jack-o’-lanterns.

The Pumpkin Tree may take center stage during the Halloween on the High Seas sailings, but Admiral Donald still owns the atrium aboard the Disney Dream!

Just off the atrium as you walk down the port hallway towards Animator’s Palate, you will notice the portholes have a different look. The portholes on Deck 3 have jack-o-lantern window clings, but the fun does not stop there…

When the sunlight hits the ship just right, the pumpkin portholes cast shadows on the floor!

On deck 4 the portholes around the atrium have spider webs.
