Casa Bacardi Rum & Distillery Tour – San Juan, Puerto Rico
One of the more popular Port Adventures offered in San Juan, Puerto Rico is the Casa Bacardi Rum & Distillery Tour. This tour filled up rather quickly before our March sailing. If you really want to go and the Port Adventures are full on your cruise, or perhaps you are spending some time in San Juan before or after a Southern Caribbean cruise, or if you just want to save some money, you can visit the Casa Bacardi on your own. Honestly, it sounds more complicated then it actually is. The main difference between the official Disney Port Adventure and the way we went about it was that Disney will handle the logistics for you. On the Disney excursion, you will be transported in an air conditioned bus from the ship to Casa Bacardi, which takes 30-40 minutes. Most importantly, if the tour gets delayed, the ship will wait for you. However, if you are comfortable exploring on your own and understand the potential risks of doing so, then (and only then) should you consider our way.

San Juan – Castillo San Felipe del Morro & Old San Juan
When we set sail on our 7-Night Eastern Caribbean cruise aboard the Disney Fantasy, we had absolutely zero plans for our day in San Juan, Puerto Rico. We had some idea on what we wanted to see and do, but we planned to see San Juan on our own, and go on an adventure without a set schedule. We had planned on meeting up with friends who live in San Juan, but there was a communication error, which left us armed with Google maps on our iPhones and a beautiful city to explore!
Back in December, our amazing… Continue reading

Stateroom Key to the World (KTTW) Activated Light Switch Tip
When sailing on the Dream and Fantasy, one of the first things you will notice when entering your stateroom is that the lights will not turn on when you push the buttons located on the wall just inside the door. The staterooms on the Dream class ships have a built in energy conservation measure that will automatically turn off the lights, TV, and reduce the air conditioning when a Key to the World (KTTW) card is not inserted into the slot above the light switches, located just inside your stateroom.
Just imagine the impact this single energy… Continue reading
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique & The Pirates League on the Disney Fantasy
Tucked away above the atrium lobby on Deck 5 of the Disney Fantasy is the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique offers a similar experience as you would find at the Disney Parks with additional options exclusive to the Disney Fantasy. My wife and I stopped in one evening to inquire about the various packages, and availability of the 45 minute makeovers. The cast member was kind enough to write in the prices for each of the packages, as the handout just shows you what is available since the prices could change at anytime without… Continue reading
