The results of Travel+Leisure’s 2014 19th Annual World’s Best Awards were announced this morning with Disney Cruise Line being named the number one Top Mega-Ship Cruise Line and Top Mega-Ship Cruise Line for Families. According to T+L’s editor-in-cheif, Nancy Novogrod, Disney Cruise Line which in the past has been named the #1 family cruise line moved to the top of the list of mega-crusie ships (capacity of 2,200 passengers or more) for the first time as a result of great service, food, onboard experience and terrific excursions and activites for all ages.
Cruise International magazine recently compiled their reader nominations for their annual Cruise Awards. Disney Cruise Line received multiple nominations for the 2014 Cruise International Awards including Best Cruise Line. In 2013, Disney Cruise Line was nominated in 4 categories and earned top spot in the Best for Families and Best for Entertainment categories.

The 2014 Cruise Critic Cruisers’ Choice Awards have been released with Disney Cruise Line earning 13 first-place awards including a Best Ship for the Disney Fantasy for the second consecutive year. The Disney Fantasy earned an impressive 9 first-place awards for Disney Cruise Line. The Disney Wonder followed up with 3 first-place awards including Best Overall in the Mid-size ship category. The Disney Dream earned one first-place award with the Best Cruises to the Bahamas. U.S. News & World Report released their Best Cruises rankings for 2014 today, and Disney Cruise Line earned top ranks in the Best for Families and Best in the Caribbean categories. Disney Cruise Line scored an overall rating of 4.3 on the 5 point scale. U.S. News ranked 15 major cruise lines based on how their cruises were regarded by travel experts, how they were rated by cruise travelers via a collaboration with Cruiseline.com, and how they fared in health and safety evaluations by the CDC. The U.S. News team compiled this data for every ship within the 15 cruise lines and determined the best cruise lines in various categories. Continue reading
Yesterday, Disney Cruise Line president, Karl Holz was presented with the biennial Cruise Award from the American Association of Port Authorities. AAPA’S Cruise Award is presented to a individuals whose outstanding work or service has had a positive impact on the relationship between the cruise port and the cruise industry in the Western Hemisphere.
Holz was selected for this award for his distinguished leadership at Disney which includes his handling of the 2004 storm crisis in Florida that closed Port Canaveral for two weeks along with his efforts in expanding the Disney Cruise Line’s brand by more than doubling… Continue reading
Disney Cruise Line Named Top Large-Ship Line in Condé Nast Traveler 2013 Readers’ Choice Awards The “Best Of The Best” Of Travel
Condé Nast Traveler published the results of their 26th Annual Readers’ Choice Awards which ranks an array of all things travel from the best cities, islands, cruise lines, airlines, hotels, and resorts in the world. Disney Cruise Line was ranked by the magazine’s readers as the top large-ship cruise line with an overall rating of 90.3, edging out Celebrity Cruises (86.6), Royal Caribbean International (81.6) and Princess Cruises (81.1). Disney was one of 11 cruise lines to score above 90!

Disney Cruise Line Honored as Best Cruise Line for Families and Entertainment at the 2013 Cruise International Awards Ceremony
Cruise International, the leading UK cruise magazine announced the winners for their third annual Cruise International Awards today. Disney Cruise Line which was nominated in four categories, took home the awards for Best For Families and Best for Entertainment. Disney Cruise Line was also nominated for Best Cruise Line and Best for Activities which both went to Royal Caribbean.
