| I've always wanted to visit PEI being an avid Anne of Green Gables fan. This excursion seemed to fit what I was looking for as I wanted some time in Charlottetown to walk around. The tour started off late as we had some issues getting off the ship. We were continually told that we would have the full tour but they had to get back for the next group. We drove through beautiful countryside to get Cavendish National Historical Site. Along the way we made one stop at a beautiful beachfront. I forgot to write down the name of that stop. But we had about 5 minutes to take pictures. When we got to the site that Green Gables is based on we had an hour to wander around. If you really wanted to explore the nature paths and take your time, then an hour would probably not be enough. We made it work though. There is a little snack shop where you can buy raspberry cordial. You can walk through the house that Green Gables in based on. It is decorated as though Anne, Matthew and Marilla live there. There are guides inside to answer questions. Then you can wander the grounds. And of course a very nice gift shop. A short movie about LM Montgomery runs every 8 minutes. On the way back to town the bus ran through a small fishing village and stopped to give a look at some lobster boats but we did not disembark. Overall it was a nice excursion for the price. | ||
