Thanks to a Florida resident rate we were able to upgrade our 11B category booking to a 9B. However, it meant that we had to go down from deck 6 to deck 2. I was apprehensive about being so low on the ship.

However, the room turned out to be perfect. It is just a few rooms away from the mid ship elevator lobby, so very convenient to any location on the ship. Going to the areas on deck 3 and 4 (atrium, restaurants, theater, bars) we easily used the stairs. Going up to the pool we used the elevator, but since we were so low, we never had to wait for an empty one.

I was afraid of noise from the elevator lobby, but we never heard noise from there. The Edge (kids club) is directly opposite the room, the entrance is in the elevator lobby. Only once in the afternoon of the last day did we hear some music coming from the club, otherwise we never heard the club or any kids at all. The room was very quiet! It also does not connect to another room. Above the room is the main entrance into the atrium (when you first board the ship - normally, we sailed out of Miami and we entered on deck 4). I had read that they use this space for storage of the photographers backgrounds but we never heard anything moving around above us.

We did not have rough seas, but you could tell that the room had much less movement than places high up on the ship. We also never heard or felt anything when the ship was docking in the room.

The room was in near excellent condition, there only was some rust and a tiny spot of paint on the outside of our porthole.

I loved the view out of the porthole as we were pretty close to the water, so you got more of a feeling of being on a ship in my opinion.

We were in cabin 2564 on the Reimagined Magic for 3 nights. This was our 10th DCL cruise, but our first in an oceanview on Deck 2. I was very nervous about not having a verandah, but, we would book this cabin again (if verandahs weren't available or were cost prohibitive). Being just about 4 months after extensive drydock, the living portion of the stateroom is essentially new. The carpet, sofa and table, bed and nightstands are all brand new. And, the bedding has been replaced with the newer style linens, crisp white comforter, and foot dust cover. Even the steamer trunk was replaced with a brand new dresser. The split bathrooms, however, have not been upgraded, though they were clean and still provide a good experience. This cabin only sleeps 3, but is an ADJOINER, though it is not displayed as such on the deckplan. While you can hear noise from Edge in the hallway, it did not carry into the stateroom. But, we did experience some noise from the neighboring cabin. This stateroom had no noticeable creaking at night when sailing (no shims), but there is a constant low-frequency humming and some additional medium-frequency mechanical noise every 5 minutes, which made getting to sleep a process. On port days, as soon as the ships docks, Maintenance starts pressure washing and the water hitting the porthole wakes you up (so don't plan on sleeping past 7AM). Being midship, it was an easy walk aft to usually empty elevators straight up to Cabanas or Palo. It was also an easy walk forward to the usually empty elevators straight up to the Spa. Just walk up one flight of stairs to Lumiere and walk forward for After Hours, or walk aft for Carioca. Just walk up two flights of stairs to Guest Services or shopping, or walk forward for the Theatre, or walk aft for Animator. Best of all, just walk down one deck for port debarking.
