We booked this room for an Alaska cruise, and my parents stayed in the next room, and we split 4 kids across both rooms. The rooms being interior was probably a benefit for a northern cruise, since it stayed light out very late, and our kids are light sleepers. The room was a bit small for such a trip, since the 7-day duration and winter clothes required a bit of extra space. However, we got plenty of rest and didn't spend a lot of wakeful time in the room, so the small space certainly didn't detract. (We have since gone on a different cruise in a deluxe interior stateroom, and found that the extra space is very welcome. Also a connecting door between the two rooms is a big advantage as well.)
There was very little noise in this room, which means that the only noise that would disturb its occupants are if people are running and hollering down the corridor. This was pretty rare, and I'm sure all hallways have similar amounts of noise.
The room was convenient to the elevators (right next door), and right between the top deck and the lower decks with all the restaurants, theaters, and activities.
