Early Online Booking for Castaway Club Members Launching with the Next Itinerary Release

Disney Cruise Line plans to allow individuals as well as travel agents to book new sail dates online based on their Castaway Club status beginning with the next itinerary release.

Based on current Castaway Club benefits Platinum Castaway Club members are able to book on day 1, followed the next day by Gold Castaway Club members, then on day 3 Silver members. On the fourth day, first time cruisers will be able to book.

Guests who purchased a future cruise voucher onboard will still need to call as this is still not set up for self service on the DCL website. Starbucks knows when I have a free coffee and asks me if I want to apply it to an order. Not really sure why a similar feature cannot be integrated into the online booking engine. I shouldn’t complain, just being able to book online is a huge step in the right direction. This will also make life easier on the call center cast members.

The fall 2019 itinerary release is on the horizon based on previous year’s announcements. The last 3 years the fall sail dates have been released in early to mid-May.

I just verified with DCL that if you have a placeholder you still have to call DCL to convert that placeholder to an actual reservation. It can’t be done online.

But is that new bookings only? Currently you have to call in if you want to change the sail date on an existing or placeholder reservation.

This is such great news! I always prefer to do everything online vs phone call whenever possible. ?
