Hey Scott,
Do you have a theory on why they played Aladdin and Believe two consecutive nights each on this cruise? Or is that some sort of typo?
Oh no, the double show nights test is back again?!?
@Doug
Unfortunately it’s not a typo, they played the shows twice. Peter mentioned that they do this so everybody can plan their evenings better, but eventually it’s just less entertainment offerings then before. The welcome-show and the byebye-show are just cancelled.
We were on this sailing and loved not having the pressure of a new show every night. This allowed us to do other evening activities that we would have missed in order to go to the show.
You could still do that just by skipping one of the shows. Why take away the option of the other shows for those who want to see them?
My husband & I felt the same way as Chad. The night we went to Palo we didn’t feel bad because we were able to see the show the next night. Question to anyone else who did this cruise, what was happening at Roman Rhythms on Monday night? We wandered past on our way to Thor.
I love the repeated shows! I prefer repeated high quality shows over the lower production value shows. We did feel alot of pressure to see each show each night and refrained from certain things we wanted to do so that we can see all the shows. The repeat allows us to do more things! I won’t miss the unforgettable journey and the fantasy come true. They can loop a recording of it on the tv and that would be enough since it is kind of watered down and not as extravagant as the other shows.
I love the Fantasy. The Dream was the first Disney ship I sailed on and it will always feel like home. (The second time I cruised on her the captain asked if it was my first. When I said “No”. He said “Welcome home.” Always felt like displaced royalty leaving that ship.) But the Fantasy has so much to offer I look to sail on her anytime I can. That being said, I got bored with the main shows the second time I sailed on the Fantasy. Good shows, but they’re too much alike. And let’s face it, Robin Williams created a genie that another actor just can’t compete with. I wish they would just switch shows from one ship to another from time to time. I never got tired of Golden Mickey’s etc. And as many times as I’ve seen the Welcome aboard and the farewell shows, they still make me smile. It’s so sad if Disney keep cutting back eventually they won’t have any more heart than Grand Caribbean or Norwegian. I remember packing as fast as I could on Friday night to catch the wave good-by in the atrium. I didn’t bother with autographs but it was a treat to see all the cast signing them. I was always in tears as they stood on the staircases, (both of them) and gave a wave in one direction then the other etc.
