Disney Fantasy’s November 18th & December 2, 2017 Sailings Switched to Western Caribbean Cruises as the Eastern Ports Continue to Recover

Disney Cruise Line made the decision to alter the next two bookable Eastern Caribbean cruises aboard the Disney Fantasy. The November 18th and December 2nd 7-night Eastern Caribbean sailings are now 7-Night Western Caribbean sailings as St Thomas and Tortola are still in the early recovery stages following Hurricane Irma and to some extent Hurricane Maria.

Both sail dates will are now 7-night Western Caribbean sailings with stops at the Western Caribbean ports of Cozumel, Costa Maya, and Grand Cayman – along with Castaway Cay. Additionally, the December departure is available with the Florida Resident and U.S. Military rates.

For those booked on this sailings here are the Personal Navigators from an August Western Caribbean cruise as well as a set from a September Halloween sailing to help get up to speed on what may be offered when you are on board.

DCL says that pre-reserved Port Adventures in Tortola and St. Thomas will automatically be removed from guest’s cruise activities, while those for Castaway Cay will remain as scheduled. Likewise, pre-reserved onboard activities like Palo Brunch, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and beverage tastings are being adjusted to fit the revised itineraries. Guests are encouraged to explore the various Port Adventure opportunities featured the revised itineraries by visiting the My Cruise Activities section at www.disneycruise.com on Friday September 29th (I’d try earlier just in case), when all of the shore excursions and onboard activities are expected to be available on DCL’s site. Modifications to their pre-arranged Cruise Activities and Port Adventures can be made online up to three days prior to their sailing.

Disney Cruise Line updated there adversary statement (see below) on their website and the sailings do show up as Westerns when searching for a cruise.

We are on Oct 21st. Wish we were going to Costa maya rather than Falmouth. Did the western last time And took three years to save for the eastern only to do the same again. Disney don’t care and offer zero compensation for ‘modifying the itinerary’ as per terms and conditions.

@Ed davies – I know how you feel 🙁 We booked our Sept. 23rd cruise for the Eastern Caribbean itinerary back in April 2016 and were notified with less than 2 weeks notice that our sailing was swapped to this Western Caribbean one. We were extremely disappointed, but the only options Disney gave us were cancelling for a full refund (which just felt like throwing salt in the wound) or re-booking within a year of our sail date (which was not an option for us, since all of the cruises for 2017-2018 are pretty much picked over at this point, and cost $2-3K more than they would have if we’d booked them within the “new itinerary” window, which is statistically the cheapest time to book). My fiance and I *did* sail as planned, and we *did* enjoy ourselves, but it certainly felt like we were “settling” for what we could get, rather than getting what we had originally paid for. For us, we didn’t feel like we had the option to cancel/re-book, since we had planned this cruise to commemorate some very important, personal milestones. If, however, we had booked this cruise simply for the sake of taking a vacation, we WOULD have cancelled for a full refund in a heartbeat!
