Disney Cruise Line subtly shared some additional experiencing being added to the Disney Wonder during her current dry dock via a Disney Parks Blog article. In the new video, Theron Skees from Walt Disney Imagineering shared a few additional details and I tried to includes some other tidbits recently added on DCL’s site.

In the Oceaneer Club, Wondering Oaken’s Trading Post with a Frozen adventure be added along with the Marvel Super Hero Academy, Andy’s room complete with SLIDE, and Club Disney Junior where the little cruisers will get to interact with their favorite TV characters!
The Frozen elements should integrate well with Frozen, The Musical debuting when the Disney Wonder returns to service in November. For those who cannot wait for the new show, you can download a Frozen paper craft to assemble at home.
Spider-Man will will teach young cruisers the basics of becoming one of his web-warriors. The Marvel adventures continue iwith Captain America’s Super Hero 101, a learning adventure where Cap teaches the true qualities of being a hero like: honor, courage, integrity and the willingness to stand up for those in need. Guest will also have an opportunity to create a Super Hero name and identity, plus design their own shield!
Kids can participate in a top secret class kids will learn the essentials of being a secret agent from strategy, intelligence, stealthiness, and dexterity. Then, join Black Widow as she helps agents infiltrate a HYDRA base and learn their secrets before they can do the same to S.H.I.E.L.D.
Disney recently shared a Marvel Super Heroes Academy coloring activity.
After Hours
After Hours, the adult district will feature Azure, a modern contemporary night club will accompany the classic jazz club, Cadillac Lounge and the proper English pub, Crown & Fin.
When guests enter Crown & Fin, should feel like a bloke visiting a neighborhood British pub. Once inside, you’ll be surrounded by dark woods, plush leather furniture and brass accents. And if you look closely, you’ll also discover more than a few nods to classic Disney films set in and around the British Isles. Grab a pint, Disney claims there will be 14 British and specialty beers on tap. Remember classics like 101 Dalmatians and Peter Pan? They come to life in their own subtle ways throughout the establishment. Of course, no true English pub is complete without football posters, trivia and other rollicking games, as well as a telephone box photo op to cap off the visit. So whether you’re looking to get a round in or just escape to another time and place, there’s no other place like Crown & Fin. Before you go check out the pub-goer’s guide to proper tavern etiquette.
Restaurants
Tiana’s Place rounds out the video and is more than just a restaurant—it’s a New Orleans celebration with toe—tapping live jazz, iconic storytelling and authentic Louisiana supper club atmosphere. Skees talked more about the live jazz music, and revealed that Tiana herself will make an appearance to sing and perform!
Chef Stephen Walker claims “One of our goals was to balance the authenticity of Louisiana cuisine with the expectations and varied tastes of our Guests. To that end, we’ve created a nice variety of dishes that include Louisiana-inspired Creole and Cajun cuisines.”
Creole blends European influences with southern cuisine in Louisiana and dates back prior to the Louisiana Purchase of 1803. One of the Creole-inspired highlights at Tiana’s Place is the New Orleans Seafood Pepper Pot, a Creole bouillabaisse with calamari, shrimp, scallops and cilantro. Cajun cuisine is more rustic and traces its influences to French Canadians who migrated to Louisiana in the mid-1700s. At Tiana’s Place, guest will find a number of tasty Cajun-inspired dishes, including the Cajun Spiced Sea Bass on Shrimp Jambalaya with a crisp Fennel Salad and Remoulade Sauce.
Desserts will include delectables from Tiana’s Buttermilk Beignets to Mama Odie’s Chocolate Bread Pudding to a New Orleans Bananas Foster Sundae.
Finally, Disney shared an at home Mardi Gras Masquerade Mask paper craft.
Animators Palate will also be updated in a similar to the upgrade to the Disney Magic.
This Disney Wonder will remain in dry dock until late October before she makes her way back to Port Canaveral then on to Galveston for her first guest cruise on November 10th, a 4-Night Western Caribbean Very MerryTime voyage.
I find it hard to say Azure… do you think they’ll come up with a nickname for it?
Azure is a Microsoft branding name and apparently there is a sponsorship involved.
Bill, are you serious? Where did you see this was a MS sponsorship?
see this blog post: https://disneycruiselineblog.com/2016/08/revised-deck-plans-reveal-additional-disney-wonder-enhancements/
Bill, It was an attempt at humor. See the following sentence. Sorry for any confusion.
In the latest video I saw on the updates, I noticed a Midship Detective Agency clip. I have spotted no mention of this anywhere other than this short clip but I am hopeful. Should I move past it or do you think it could be a possibility? Here is the clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=SXUXoHcp66Y&app=desktop
I am not reading into the end of that clip. He is talking about how WDI uses technology and most of the b-roll is from the Dream class and recent updates to the Disney Dream. Disney is notorious for using b-roll of elements from other ships when talking about another ship. They sometimes even show Remy when talking about Palo.
Any pictures from the ship yard other that one two weeks ago when first put in dry dock?
Just wondering if the cabins will be getting a little spruced up at all during the drydock?
Any updates? You can not see anything from the webcams
