Disney Cruise Line Shows Continued Interest in Quebec, Canada

According to a report from Le Journal De Quebec, two Disney Cruise Line representatives visited Quebec during the first week of September. During the visit, Disney representatives toured the city’s main attractions, met with Mayor Labeaume, representative from the Port of Quebec, and leaders of the city’s board of tourism.

Three years ago, we reported that DCL was expressing interest in Quebec. In the 2013 article, it was revealed that DCL asked representatives from Quebec to start working to see if it would work.

The article mentioned, DCL typically plans itineraries two years in advance meaning the earliest a Disney Cruise ship could sail St. Lawrence River would be 2019. It definitely seems like DCL is continuing to test the region. In a couple weeks, the Disney Magic will return to New York and sail two Canadian cruises and will return for a couple more sailings in 2017. Additionally, earlier this year the Disney Magic made an inaugural call to Boston. This all could be just a coincidence and only time will tell.

The original article was in French, a translated version can be read via this pdf. Special thanks to The Guy from Quebec for the email alerting me to this article.

Would you be interested in sailing the St. Lawrence River on a Disney Cruise ship with a stop in Quebec City?

Quebec City is absolutely amazing. It’s like visiting Europe without the long flight. (and I’m from Nova Scotia) 🙂

We just finished a cruise (on another cruise line) beginning in Montreal. Also visited Quebec, Charlottetown, Sydney, Halifax and Bar Harbor ending in Boston! It was the BEST itinerary yet! We would go again in a heartbeat!
