Disney Cruise Line Announces Fall 2017 Itineraries (September – December)

Disney Cruise Line announced their Fall 2017 sailings this morning with a variety of new and altered itineraries. The Fall 2017 Disney Cruise itineraries feature the Disney Wonder returning to the Mexican Riviera from San Diego in the fall and the Disney Magic heading back to New York with a few intriguing Canadian itineraries. The Disney Dream will continue to her alternating three and four-night Bahamian cruises. The Disney Fantasy will continue her Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises. The notable sailing for the Disney Fantasy is her first ever double dip to Castaway Cay during the Christmas week Western Caribbean cruise. The Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy will remain at Port Canaveral with Monday, Friday and Saturday departures. The Disney Magic will spend the fall sailing from New York, San Juan and Miami while the Disney Wonder splits her season between San Diego and Galveston.

Today’s release extended the available sail dates into late-December 2017 for the fleet. These new sail dates will allow guest to plan vacations more than one year out, as well as take advantage of opening day pricing for some of of the more unique itineraries.

Although the dates were announced today, open booking will not being until May 25th. On Wednesday May 25th, Platinum & Gold Castaway Club members will be able to call in or have their travel agents book sailings. On Thursday, May 26th Silver Castaway Club members as well as first time cruisers will be able to book. I say this every time DCL releases new sail dates, but it is worth repeating… Please do not try calling today to book; this will just clog up the phone lines and bog down the reservation cast members. There may be people attempting to book an available cruise vacation today.

I really need to thank Tracy from TravelOnADream.com for helping me get the itineraries cleared up.

New Canada coast itinerary and new ports from New York

Disney Cruise Line returns to New York City in the fall of 2017, for a mix of voyages that include Canada coast and Bahamas itineraries.

On Oct. 21, the Disney Magic will sail from New York on a seven-night Canada sailing – the line’s longest-ever voyage to the Atlantic Canada coast. This sailing includes a new port of call for Disney Cruise Line – Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.

Bar Harbor, Maine, is another new port of call for Disney Cruise Line and part of a five-night sailing that departs New York on Sept. 27. This cruise also will stop at Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada.

A total of six seven- and eight-night sailings to the Bahamas, all including a visit to Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay, will be a part of the 2017 New York season.

Adding to the magic on each of the Bahamian cruises will be the opportunity to visit Walt Disney World Resort when the ship stops at Port Canaveral, Fla. Each guest on these sailings will receive a one-day Walt Disney World Park Hopper ticket and round-trip transportation for the short drive between the ship and the resort.

Return to San Diego, California

In September and October of 2017, Disney Cruise Line will return to San Diego with a variety of Disney Wonder cruises to Baja and the Mexican Riviera.

On most Baja sailings, guests can visit Cabo San Lucas and Ensenada, Mexico, to enjoy world-famous beaches and snorkeling. Two-night cruises depart San Diego on Sept. 15, Sept. 22 and Oct. 13, and a three-night cruise departs Oct. 5 and includes a day at sea.

Mexican Riviera itineraries feature snorkeling and scuba diving hot spots, while Puerto Vallerta and Mazatlan are where cliff divers, culture and ziplining through the jungle canopy take center stage. Seven-night itineraries departing on Sept. 24 and Oct. 15, call on Puerto Vallerta, Mazatlan and Cabo San Lucas. Four additional four- and five-night Mexican Riviera cruises set sail during the season in San Diego.

Return to Galveston, Texas

Disney Cruise Line returns to Galveston in 2017, with a line up of eight seven-night cruises to the Caribbean and the Bahamas. All Bahamian itineraries include a stop at Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island in the Bahamas.

On Nov. 10 and Dec. 1, the Disney Wonder will sail a western Caribbean itinerary from Galveston to Cozumel, Grand Cayman and Falmouth, Jamaica.

On Nov. 17, Nov. 24, Dec, 8, Dec. 15, Dec. 22 and Dec. 29, the Disney Wonder will sail from Galveston to Key West, Nassau and Castaway Cay.

That is cool. By the way, you made a mistake by saying that the Disney Fantasy will be departing on Sundays.

Sadly, no ‘teacher friendly dates’ out of New York. My wife teaches and I was pinning my hopes on Columbus Day weekend (DVC or other). Sailing out of New York again seems unlikely.

What’s the Wonder doing between Nov 4th (end of Panama Canal EB) and Nov 17th (first published Caribbean departure from Galveston)?

Strange, the information from my travel agent was an October 21st sailing for the EBPC. But that’s clearly in error, as the same information showed an October 15th 7-night Mexican Riviera and an October 22nd 5-night Baja. Sorry for the mixup!

I agree with Gina on the Wonder coming to San Diego! Much easier for those of us in CA! Thanks Disney!

Hi Scott. Do you know if Palo still offers brunch on the 3-day Bahamian cruises (on the Nassau day)?

On my last 3 night cruise in September 2015 they were not offering the brunch at all. I was told they ended the option for brunch on the 3 night sailings.

Hey Scott… I’ve been out of touch for a while. What are the booking block out dates for I mean, I realize that means you can’t book but why?

    Reply
    1. Carol Gallo

The blocked out dates apply to guest who have booked a future cruise onboard. The onboard booking discount does not apply to those blocked out sail dates.

Will the 2 cruises from San Diego to Cabo San Lucas, in Oct. be Halloween cruises? We did that cruise last year and the Halloween party, decorations, etc. were great!

At this time, I could only speculate. I would not book these with the assumption they will be Halloween on the Hight Seas cruise, but they could be based on prior sail dates.

HI – are you sure about the change to the trans alantic sailing for the Magic – I called Disney because several sites had St John NFLD vs Saint John New Brunswick and the person I talked to said it was NFLD and the site was wrong?

Thank you for your helpful information. I am considering the 7 night Canada on 10/21/17. I am somewhat concerned it is a little too late in the year though. Any thoughts on that?

They fixed it finally – I got this today

Thank you for selecting a Disney Cruise Line vacation. We’re glad that you are sailing with us aboard the Disney Magic on September 16, 2017, for an 11-night sailing from Barcelona to New York.

It has come to our attention that the itinerary listed on our website for your cruise vacation inadvertently listed St. John (New Brunswick), Canada, as a port-of-call when the ship will actually be calling in St. John’s (Newfoundland), Canada. The cruise confirmation you received was correct and the information has been updated on our website. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.

Again, thank you for sailing with us. We are looking forward to providing you with an excellent cruise experience.

        Sincerely,

        The Cast and Crew

Is there a reason my sailing date November 11, 2017 on the Fantasy is crossed out? That is my sailing date lol

7-Night Western Caribbean Cruise from Port Canaveral – November 11, 2017 is crossed out… I’m sailing on that date! 😀

        Katherine,
This sailing was not available when the sail dates were originally announced on May 24th. At the time I suspected it may have been held back as a possible placeholder for the 2017 TCM Cruise based on the similar sailing in 2016, but it was opened up for general booking on July 15, 2016. Thanks for alerting me as I was not aware this particular sailing had been made available to book. The website has been updated to reflect the change.

Hi, any idea when opening day will be for winter 2018? I am a newbie at this and just started looking into Disney cruises. I was hoping to book for Fall of 2017 but looks like there’s not a lot of options left… I’m interested in the San Diego port to Mexico. Thanks in advance!
