Disney Cruise Line Potentially Set to Return to Mazatlan in October 2017

The Disney Wonder is potentially set to make Mazatlan, Mexico a port of call in October 2017. A few weeks ago, I stumbled upon and tweeted a link to an article on Crew-center.com about DCL evaluating the port for a potential return. According to the article, the Secretary for Public Security of Mazatlan, made a presentation of the strategy and security protocols prior, during and after the visit of a cruise ship to Mazatlan, as well as work safety and resorts in the rural areas to a delegation from Disney Cruise Line.

On February 11, 2016 @APIMazatlan tweeted the following: “Disney Cruise Line confirms el arrive del Crucero Disney Wonder al Puerto #Maxatlan para el res de October de 2017.”

I’ve embedded the tweet above, but we know how these things typically disappear. So, below is a screenshot of the tweet.

Looking for more proof that the Disney Wonder may visit Mazatlan in 2017. I submit to you a screenshot of Disney Cruise Line’s own website.DCL Website Mazatlan 20160226

The Disney Wonder was scheduled to call on Mazatlan in 2011, during her 7-night Mexican Riviera sailings, but joined other cruise lines by pulling out due to safety concerns.

I’d like to thank @Spinatmaedchen for brining alerting me to the tweet.

So…..is it safe to assume then that the Wonder will resume Mexican Riviera sailings? That would be so awesome for us West Coasters! We did the 5 night Baja cruise in October and it was wonderful. Would love to do a 7 nighter out of San Diego! Or am I getting too excited and getting ahead of myself?? Any thoughts or opinions? Scott? anyone? Should I get my hopes up? : )

I wonder (no pun intended) what that means for Galveston in 2017? I would guess Disney is either dropping Galveston again or bringing the Magic back?

That would be awesome! I did the EBPC this year and want to go back in 2017, so a new port of call would be a bonus!

The Wonder arrived in November this year, and it looks like Mazatlan is in October, so maybe the Wonder will sail California in October and move to Galveston in November?
