In Alaska, cruise ships have to agree to a low noise policy, so no ships horns or fireworks. I think they sounded the horn once, perhaps in Ketchikan which was the southern most stop.

Also, it does not get dark until 11:30pm or so each night so fireworks would not be effective anyway. Just got back from the 7 night Norwegian Fjords cruise and it stayed light out until 1am!

Temps were cool with rain at times. You need warm layers. A lot of people were buying hats, gloves, and even coats in the ports of call, and they are expensive there! I’d recommend a parka, hat, and gloves just in case. And at least one rainproof layer.

We actually brought too much warm weather stuff. Yes, you’ll need sweaters and jackets, maybe even a hat and gloves, at times. But several days were quite warm (70 & sunny), so we were wishing we had packed a few more t-shirts and shorts. Also, unless you’re ashore, you’re mostly inside where it’s plenty warm. So you’ll definitely want plenty of nice warm weather clothing as well as the cooler weather stuff.

      But overall, a wonderful cruise!

To anyone who boarded in Copenhagen. Does the Magic board at the end of Ocean Kaj at a Terminal 1? We are in Copenhagen and trying to figure out where to go on Saturday morning.

I don’t remember the exact terminal number, but it’s the first one you come to. You won’t be able to miss it. My husband and I were on the 7 night Norwegian Fjord and we took a taxi in. We just told our driver Ocean Kaj pier and when we got there he asked us which ship, we said Disney Magic and he dropped us off in the Taxi area. It was really simple, I wouldn’t worry you won’t be able to miss the ship trust me 😉

I agree that the terminal is easy to navigate. We walked and could see the Magic from blocks away at our hotel. Don’t worry! Also pack for anything from rainy 40s to sunny 68-70. We saw a wide variety. Even used the ship pools comfortably.
