Hi! Thanks for posting these! I noticed your pirate night was on day 5. I thought it was usually on day 4. Do you know if this was changed for just your cruise or has DCL made a permanent change? I may need to do some rearranging! Thanks again!

I am not sure if this is a permanent change or just a modification for this sailing. You can always log on to the DCL site and check your reservation to see which night is Pirate night. Alternatively, you can call DCL to ask what night is scheduled for your cruise.

I believe this was a temporary change — I was also on this cruise (Alyssa beat me to sending the personal navigators in!), and we didn’t find out about the switch until after we boarded the ship. The crew mentioned it was because of our late departure time from St. Thomas, after 8pm, which had something to do with the port scheduling and being the first ship on the dock. Apparently there is a regulated distance away from land the ship needs to be to set off the fireworks, and with the late departure they weren’t going to be able to meet it by 10pm, so they just postponed it until the next night.

I was also on this sailing – and understood it from what Mike above. There were quite a few ships at St. Thomas that day. Additionally, we didn’t have to be back on board until 7PM so it gave everyone more time to enjoy the port too.
One CM we spoke to said he had been on Fantasy for 7 months and this was the first time this had happened so it is rare and likely that Pirate Night is usually kept night 4.
