Disney definitely has the merchandising down. DCL will probably start charging an entry fee for the 5K in the future which would be ok if you got a shirt and medal.

Absolutely intrigued by the thought of a Castaway Cay 5K. We’ve been trying to do one as a family for a couple of years, but manage to find scheduling conflicts. Can you post any information about this race (age limits, etc.). for upcoming cruisers? Thanks.

Have a look at the personal navigator in the next Blog Post (Dream, 4 night Bahamian Cruise). Day 3 at Castaway Cay. runDisney Castaway Cay 5k (Age 12+) assembly 8.15am on the ship. Leave the ship at 8.30am at the “all ashore” signal. Walk to the Bike Rentals where the run begins. Enjoy the running and remember that it should all be fun and 5k is long untrained.

I looove the 5k pin. I hope they’ll be available in January after we do the Dopey we will be cruising. We love doing the 5k on CC. I get pins for every race so I’m thrilled they ave one now for this event.

They started giving out plastic medals after the 5k (I blinged mine up with swarovski crystals :D). They also have a tee to purchase. I’d be fine if there was a small fee if they gave out real Disney medals.

    Thanks for the info.
