Sometimes, on a cruise it is nice to sleep in; but, it can be just as rewarding to wake up early and catch the sunrise. Besides, you can always take a nap later in the day by the pool.

I have a tip to share for the photographers reading this, make sure you are not unscrewing your circular polarizing filter when you are rotating it. I learned this lesson the hard way when it dropped over the railing to a crew only area near the bridge. Thankfully, I was able to get it back after speaking to a cast member at the guest services who arranged for an officer to retrieve the filter, which did not break.

Even the filter broke id still say it was worth getting out of bed, as a sunrise at sea is better than a sunrise on land any day of the week!
