Carioca’s Menu Teaser for the Reimagined Disney Magic

The first thing that came to my mind with the announcement of a brand new restaurant, Carioca’s, arriving this October on the reimagined Disney Magic was that I cannot wait to try a new menu!  Sure, I will miss the Caribbean flair of Parrot Cay, but I am eager to try something new.  A cruise is the perfect time to be adventurous and order outside of your comfort zone.  I figure, there are so many opportunities to eat on a cruise, that I can always get something somewhere else if it’s not to my liking. I am willing to take the risk since all of the food is included as well.

Earlier this week, Disney Cruise Line launched an all new online magazine for Castaway Club members.  If you took the time to read through the inaugural issue, you probably already saw the interview with Disney Cruise Line fleet Culinary and Consistency Chef, Stephen Walker, who provided a preview of the new dishes currently in development for Carioca’s.

The reimagined Carioca’s restaurant, named after Jose Carioca one of the Three Caballeros, is inspired by all the colors and flair of Brazil.  Carioca’s will serve all time favorites and culinary forward creations latin infused flavors using the finest quality ingredients.

Specialty Cocktails

Dinner at Carioca’s will begin with a choice of specialty cocktails based on the the national cocktail of Brazil, Caipirinha.  Caipirinha is made using the countries most common distilled alcoholic beverage, cachaça.  Cachaça, is derived from fermented sugarcane juice which is then distilled, similar to rum.  There are two flavors to choose from – Mango and Raspberry.  The non-alcholoic Mango and Raspberry caipirinha are made using agave nectar syrup in place of Leblon Cachaça.

Wow! They all look so good. I am definitely not a gourmet food expert, but they sound really creative and fun. I could try to make one at home, but I know it wouldn’t be the same. Thanks for that great post.

This is just a teaser and not the entire menu. We will post the entire menu, as we are on the first cruise on the Magic after dry dock. Stay tuned!

Just sailed The Magic, 12 day, Northern European. Although this blog post refers to Carioca’s menu, alone. I can tell you that the items presented on the menu, are, to say the least, a complete mish-mosh of items and ingredients that just don’t belong together. The items pictured above are only a small, and the best sampling of what was offered. Never so disappointed in the food offered on a Disney cruise!
