European Port Adventures Developed Just for Kids

Late last year, Arnaldo Zanonato offered a sneak peek of the Port Adventures in Venice and Kusadasi (Ephesus) which he, and his team were putting together for 2013 Mediterranean sailings.  This week over on the Disney Parks Blog, Arnaldo, highlighted some of  the more unique European Port Adventures developed specifically for families sailing with young children.

European Youth Port Adventures 2013

Venice

The St. Mark’s Square and Doge’s Palace tour begins after a short boat ride from the pier to the San Marco area.  A guided walking tour around the Square will be filled with historical anecdotes before reaching Doge’s Palace, the former residence of the Rulers of Venice.  You will have roughly an hour to explore the palace and even climb the famous Golden Staircase.  Next, you will re-board your boat and travel the water canals to a Venetian mask shop to learn everything you want to know about the iconic masks.  After the history lesson, children will have the opportunity to decorate thier own masks with the aid of Disney Cruise Line Youth Counselors.  During the mask workshop parents are welcome go out an explore or visit the surrounding shops.  This Port Adventure will last a little over 5 hours, children ages 5 to 9 will cost $299 and adults (anyone over 10) will pay $319.

Greece

The Delos Island Port Adventure will begin with a scenic boat ride to the west side of the Island where the entire family will embark on an over two hour walking tour of the archaeological site.  The site is the home to the Temple of Apollo and other historical monuments.  Following the tour, you will ferry back to Mykonos where the children will be joined by Disney Cruise Line Youth Counselors for a fun-filled mosaic workshop, while parents have the option explore the town.  This Port Adventure will last just short of 5 hours, children ages 5 to 9 will cost $139 and adults (anyone over 10) will pay $179.

Turkey

The family sightseeing adventures continue in Turkey on the Ephesus and Şirince Village tour.  The first stop on the tour is the anceient ruins of Ephesus, Turkey’s most important archelologica site for a a guided walking tour.  Following the historic tour you will take a bus ride to Şirince which is home to just 600 people. While in Şirince, the kids will have the opportunity to make bracelets with Turkish beads and symbols, while the parents can shop for local goods in the nearby bazaar.  This Port Adventure will last about 6 hours, children ages 5 to 9 will cost $79 and adults (anyone over 10) will pay $139.
